SMILING FARMS

A. Main features:

1. IFARM is a collaboration between the government, village communities and the civil society to
bring reforms in the agriculture and rural sector.

2. IFARM is a blend of knowledge, practical experience and experiments. The project is multi
dimensional. It is a combination of

 WANGCHUK - Business Incubation Centre where the enrolled students and participants
will run real life companies ,

 CHAVDI - Farmers sharing the knowledge and experiences;

 NISARGVAN- A model farm that harnesses nature and integrated with natural
ecological principles;

 MIND CENTER – Mechanisation, Intelligence, Network and Data analysis for Precision
Farming; and

 MANAGEMENT BOARD– Facilitating Research, Testing Labs, Technology, Funds and


Marketing

3. The farmers, students, youth & women learning and working with experts. They use their
acquired skills to solve their agriculture and life problems.

B. BUDGET:

 Initial capital of Rs 5.00 crs.

 This capital will be treated as soft loan from the promoters and later on repaid from the
earnings.
 Cost Streams – Investments in Technology, IOT equipments, Lab equipments, Office and
Incubation Centre, Travel, Lodging and Boarding, training, infra-structure, advertising, salaries,
admin expenses.

 Revenue Streams – Rent and monthly subscription from IOT equipments and technology,
Training fees, Magazine subscriptions, Grants from Atal Innovation Mission, CSR Funds, Social
Development Funds, Profit Sharing with Network Partners, Marketing of products and packages
developed by the Institute.

C. CAMPAIGN FOR MAIN MESSAGE:

Your food is your medicine – use it carefully, we do lot of things for you.

Nature is your best guru and companion - Nurture, cooperate and Collaborate

 with it.

 No Negligence, No competition, No exploitation of Nature.

 Plenty for all – Share it, spread it, do it with love and care.

D. JV Models that can be worked out if approved in principle:

1. Bio- Tech Park under SPV.

2. R&D in collaboration with Private companies

3. Taking agriculture knowledge to grass root levels through FPO’s

4. Commercial production and marketing of seeds, technology and process developed by the
university at national and international levels.
