Mahabir pun is the first person who brought the internet to few villages in Nepal to provide
villager with better access to health, education and information. He completed his degree in USA
in 2001 after that he came to Nepal to do something so, he participated in small social work to
improve people’s lives by facilitating better communication. He decides to introduces wireless
technology and concept of digital literacy to solve the problem of communication back
then,village didn’t have electricity or telephone services.
We faced technological challenges to increase signal strength operate long- range wifi in order to
connect more villages. Government didn’t provide any support and everything was done with the
help of locals. The result of project helps the student to learn online education and student can
communicate with students abroad through video conference and email. Helps health worker and
clinics could consult doctors in Kathmandu Pokhara. He is working with young innovators on
developing a mobile application that link patients with paralysis to their caretakers. Nepal is
lagging behind the rest of the world in technology research due to less support of investment of
fund. There has been no investment from private and public sector and also lacking of human
resources. Import of machinery product is increasing trend whereas export is zero.
Current scenario of Nepal in internet access has been in increasing with the increasing in number
of computer and mobile phone users there had been internet penetration of 63% as of kartik 2074
reported by MIS. Nepal wireless network project has done improvement in social and economic
condition of rural areas. Nepal has been able to produce capable candidates for outsourcing
which is one of the fast –growing exports in Nepal Recently a team from Nepal RARA Bio Tech
able to win the day 1 startup competition in world innovation forum. Despite of few development
in technological field Nepal is lags far in technological research. Thus, we are not able to make
any manufacture but making lots of imports.
Technological development in Nepal
According to this two article the present scenario of development of technology in Nepal has
been increasing then the past scenario. Technology is widely use in every field. Private and
public sector has not supported by any kind of funds in the development of technology so that
they are facing the problem of fund while implementation new projects. Development of
technology in the country is very important according to my point of view technology makes
works faster, improve the standard living, and make the country prosperous etc. only the
development of technology is not important there should be the capable human resources who
can use these technology in proper way. Many people uses internet for entertainment rather than
other necessary activities internet has so many access it covers the whole world information.
Computers came into use in Nepal sporadically since the mid-1980s. The development of ICT in
Nepal is not considered satisfactory as it still lags behind its minimum ICT infrastructures but the
telecom sector, with an exception, has excelled since 2005 and is still developing rapidly with a
penetration of above 50%.

Despite, these few developments in the technological field in Nepal, Nepal lags far behind the
technological research. We consume technology but do no research on it. The public and private
sectors are passive in terms of making an investment in the research fields. Thus, we are not able
to make any manufacture or invention but making lots of imports.
