Dear Dorchester School District Two Employees:

As we approach the mid-year mark for the historic 2020-2021 school year, the Board of
Trustees joins with school district leadership in feeling great pride in the Dorchester School
District Two family for the unselfish focus on the welfare of students and on each other
during this unprecedented time. The hard work and dedication of our employees at a time of
personal and professional challenges has provided a measure of stability for the school
district and its students. We have deep appreciation for the masterful job each of you has
done in fulfilling your job responsibilities with flexibility, understanding, and patience.

In recognition of the herculean efforts of our employees this year, the Board approved a
financial bonus at the January 11, 2021 Board meeting for all permanent full time and
permanent part time employees as a small token of appreciation for your continued
dedication to the children of Dorchester School District Two. As you are aware, the school
district has limited financial resources; however, the Board feels strongly that this bonus is a
priority. The Board Budget Committee worked with district leadership to allocate part of the
CARES Act monies along with a portion of the district’s fund balance to fund the
recommended bonus for employees. Full time certified employees will receive $1,000;
classified employees will receive $500; and permanent part time employees will receive
$250. The bonuses will be included in January 29th payments.

The Board of Trustees believes in the power of Team in creating the successes of our school
district. Now more than ever, we commit to working with employees and the community in
making the best decisions for the students and staff of Dorchester School District Two.
