I. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES

This four-unit course is a review course covering The Family Code of the Philippines, Book II of the New Civil
Code particularly Ownership, Possession, Usufruct, Easement or Servitude, and Nuisance, as well as the provisions
on Occupation, Donation, and Prescription under Book IV of the new Civil Code. Updates on recent and relevant
laws are also discussed as well as latest cases decided by the Supreme Court on the matter.

Objectives

Students are expected to gain knowledge and understanding of the aforesaid laws in preparation for the bar
examination. They are also expected to develop the capacity for critical analysis of problems in civil law and
correctly apply the laws to given problems and situations.

Methodology

The course will employ blended learning, i.e. modular and recitation/online classes via Zoom, as primary method
of instruction to develop the students’ power of analysis, reasoning, and facility of expression.
