EXAMINATION REPORT
SUB: "Sohrai Painting" G.l. Application No. 658 - Reg.
Sir / Madam,

The above numbered application has been examined as per the provisions of Geographical
Indications of Goods (Registration & Protection) Act and Rules. I am directed to issue the
Examination Report under Rule 33 of the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration &
Protection) Rules, 2002 tor compliance with the requirements stated as under within the
prescribed time:
* The following information / documents / forms should be furnished / filed for compliance:

1. The Name of the Gl to be amended to be read as Sohrai-Khovar Painting.

2. The logo of Gl Product to be provided and graphically represented for better identification and
Protection of Gl Rights.
3. Demarcation of Gl Area of production of Gl Product: To provide two copies (One original & One
certified preferably in 44 or A3 size) of the map of the territory, region or locality demarcating
Geographical area of production in which the goods relating to the Geographical Indication are
being produced or manufactured issued from a competent statutory authority giving details of the
longitude and latitude of the production area,
4. Upon Registration the Applicant has to comply with the following Post Registration conditions:
* To ensure for registration of producers of Sohrai-Khovar Painting as Authorised Users,
* Further, for registration of Authorised User a condition has been placed that "Every Application
for Registration of Authorised User shall be supported by an "No Objection Certificate' from the
Applicant stating the following information of the proposed Authorised User:
* He is a producer within the Gl Area of Production;
* He complies with production & quality standards of Gl Product.
* To submit a report within One (1) Year to the Registry, regarding the impact of Gl Registration
and means of propaganda used for promotion of Gl.
Attention is invited to Rule 3aQl of the Geographical Indications of goods (Registration &
Protection) Rules 2002,you are hereby informed that if within Two (02) Months from the date of
communication, the applicant does not amend/resubmit his application according to the official
requirements, or submit his observations to the Registrar or apply for a he4g[9, failing which
the application shall be dismissed as per Act and Rules.
