1 Documentation

1.1 Documentation overview

This chapter describes the audience, structure, conventions and history of changes of
Coriant hiT 7300 Documentation Guide (DG).
The following documentation is available for release 5.40 50 of Coriant hiT 7300
(hereinafter referred to as hiT 7300):

t There are Release Notes for every software version. Refer to the Release Notes for
important information on the specific version of hiT 7300 and the limitations of the
release as well as important notes concerning the operating documentation.
Manuals on equipment of MPB Communications (MPBC) can be found on the same
CD-ROM as the craft terminal software.

Downloading documentation
The documentation can be downloaded from Coriant Customer Portal:
 Enter https://coriant.force.com/customer/ in the address field of your Web browser
and login.

t Please contact your Coriant Customer Care manager to obtain your company's cre-
dentials.

 Click the Download Center tab located in the upper tabs of the Web page, or click
Software & License Download Center.
The Download Center page opens.
 Click the Documents tab.
 Select your Product and Release or, alternatively, use the Find option.
A list of available documentation is displayed.
 Click the entry of the documentation to be downloaded.
The details of your selection are displayed.
 Click again the documentation entry to start the download.

f DANGER! A safety message indicates a dangerous situation where

personal injury is possible.
f WARNING! The keywords denote hazard levels with the following meaning:
f CAUTION! DANGER! - Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, will result in death or serious (irreversible) personal
injury.
WARNING! - Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, could result in death or serious (irreversible) personal
injury.
CAUTION! - Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, may result in minor or moderate (reversible) personal

w NOTICE: A property damage message indicates a hazard that may result

Representation Meaning
[square brackets] A key to be pressed on a PC keyboard, for example [F11].
Keys to be pressed simultaneously are concatenated with a “+”
sign, for example [CTRL]+[ALT]+[DEL].
Keys to be pressed one after another are concatenated with
spaces, for example [ESC] [SPACE] [M].
> The greater than symbol “>” is used to concatenate a series of
GUI items in order to depict a GUI path. This is an abridged pre-
sentation of a procedure to be carried out in order to perform an
action or display a window or dialog box.
