Introduction

This is a simple system to exploit the e/w value offered on races that

feature a strong favourite and a good value bet for horse that are likely

to place and may on occasion win, and make you a decent return overall.

It will work on any horse race around the world including USA and Australia.

So this is perfect for tackling races you are not familiar with or have no knowledge of as

you just need to follow the below simple rules to play the system.

Boylesports is a good bookie to use with this system and they have a good range of global

horse racing tracks covered. You can also get up to £25 in free bets if you are a new

The Rules of the System

1. Bet on races featuring a strong favourite at odds of 6/4 or below

2. Bet on a horse in this race e/w at odds of 5/1 to 10/1 (you should bet on the one

closest to 5/1)

3. Only choose races with 8, 9 or 10 runners

4. If two horses are both the same odds between 5/1 and 10/1, don't bet.

5. So odds prices are accurate bet close to the start of the race.

Tip: Use Attheraces.com to quickly discover races with 8,9,10 runners (by the race it will

say 8 run or 6 run etc)

Each Way Thief System Example

To prove this technique works I'll look quickly look at a day's racing at a few tracks.

Date: March 29th 2020

Track: Tampa Bay Race Card

This card has 8 Races but just 1 qualifying race

Qualifying Race: 20:51 Tampa Bay Downs

Qualifying Horse: Queens Embrace, Odds 11/2 Bet 1 point Each Way (Total 2 points)

2
Why? Race has strong favourite ( Duchess Of Sussex, 11/8), Odds are between 5/1 -

10/1, race has 8 runners

Result, Queens Embrace wins!

Profit = 6.6 points

As you can see from the example the only qualifier at the Tampa Bay track that day won,

you may only find 1 or 2 qualifiers a day per track, but they've got a hell of chance of

placing and either making you a small profit or breaking even, and then on occasion when

they win, like the selection above you'll walk away with a nice profit.

Let’s try another track on the same day.

Track: Golden Gate Fields

This card has 9 Races but just 1 qualifying race

Qualifying Race: 23:52 Golden Gate Fields

Qualifying Horse: Don'tteasethetiger, Odds 6/1 Bet 1 point Each Way (Total 2 points)

Why? Race has strong favourite ( Potente Alba, 4/5), Odds are between 5/1 - 10/1, race

has 9 runners

3
Result, Don’teasethetiger places 2nd, but as we are playing each-way we don’t lose and

make a small profit!

Profit = 0.2 points

Let’s try it a third time!

Track: Gulfstream

This card has 10 races, but only 1 qualifying race. For eagle eye readers race 5 - 20:03

was a close qualifier but breaks rule 4 of the system (“If two horses are both the same

odds between 5/1 and 10/1, don't bet”)

Qualifying Race: 22:11 Gulfstream

Qualifying Horse: Remarkable Soul, Odds 5/1 Bet 1 point Each Way (Total 2 points)

Why? Race has strong favourite ( Angelia, 11/8), Odds are between 5/1 - 10/1, race has 8

runners

Result, Remarkable Soul wins!

Profit = 6 points

To give a full picture of a day’s racing I must also include quickly the other two

tracks for the day in the USA that ran and the losses…

4
Los Almitos 1 Qualifier, lost, -2 points

Remington Park, I Qualifier lost, -2 points

Total Profit = 8.8 points profit

Even with the losing tracks we still make a profit of 8.8 points.

That’s a strike rate of 60% and ROI of 88%!!

Most tipsters would be over the moon with a day like that!

For tipsters it means hours of work, for us its a 5 minute scan :)

Conclusion

Each Way Thief is the perfect system for those who want an easy way to bet on horse

racing. While not foolproof as you can see we didn’t win every time in our test. It is a great

way of exploiting value in horses between 5/1-10/1 against short favourites which are often

over bet.

Why does a system this easy work?

I believe for two reasons. Primarily because all the money is coming in for the favourite

and the odds of a horse at bigger odds tend to push out a little bit compared to their

chances of winning giving us a value opportunity.

Secondly because we are betting each way we have a good chance of placing each way

At odds close to 5/1 (place odds evens at 5/1). This helps when the favourite does win and

keeps our bankroll healthy as we bide our time for the fave to slip up, which as we all know

they inevitably do.

Hope you like the system, any feedback appreciated :)

Best Regards, Steve

FAQ

Q. What races does this system work on?

This system will work on any race around the globe including UK, IRE, USA and Australian

racing. As long as you can meet the rules of the system it will work.

Q. Will this work on Virtual racing?

In my opinion, no. Virtual racing is no different to games like roulette, so this particular

system wouldn’t be useful as you cannot find value in any of the bets.

Q. Can I use this system on Betfair as win/place bets?

Yes you can do that, simply compare to the bookies odds to get a similar price.

Q. Can I bet in advance as well as close to the off?

Yes, although I have advised to bet close to the off to get accurate prices and a potential

drift out on non-favourites. You could equally bet in advance and theoretically secure a

better price on non-favourites who meet the rules of the system.

Q. Do I need to use a specific bookie to play?

No you can bet anywhere you like, although getting best odds and best odds guaranteed

is always a good thing

7
Q. Will I be banned from the bookies for using this system?

The only reason you might be “banned” or more likely limited is for winning too much. This

can happen regardless of what tips or system you follow. If it does move on to the next

bookmaker.
