INTERNSHIP    
 Summer Fellow at Indian Academy of Science (May – July 2016) 
 Worked on a project titled “Application of Dimensionality Reduction Algorithms in Facial Emotion 
Recognition System”, to check for the feasibility of the deployment of such a system in real time devices. 
 Obtained the state of the art accuracies in implementation and proposed a new approach to that makes 
the system more robust to changes in micro expressions. 
 Possible publication of the above mentioned work after extension. 
PROJECTS    
 Im2Cal: Machine Learning for Food Recognition (August, 2016 – Present) 
 Implemented and tested the existing algorithms and workflows. 
 Proposed an approach involving LBP features along‐with dimensional reduction that minimizes the 
computation cost and is sufficiently accurate. 
 Application of Dimensionality Reduction Algorithms in Facial Emotion Recognition System (May – July 2016) 
 Design and implementation of a smart temperature and humidity sensor to maximize the comfort and 
reduce power consumption in Air Conditioners (As a part of MEI LAB – Dr. Barathram Ramkumar) (August, 
2015 – November, 2015): 
 Studied the variation of “Feels like Temperature” with temperature and humidity over a region. 
 Analyzed and studied the sensor data to predict performance characteristics 
 Design and implementation of a Phase Locked Loop Circuit to be used in Communication Engineering Lab as a 
model for the upcoming batches (August, 2015 – November, 2015)
