JUDICIAL POWER:

Is the power to apply the laws to contest or disputes concerning legally

recognized rights or duties between the State and private persons, or between
individual litigants in cases properly brought before the judicial tribunal.

ADJUDICATORY POWER:

It includes the duty of courts of justice:

a. Setting legal controversies

b. Determining whether there has been grave abuse of discretion
amounting to lack or excess of jurisdiction by any branch of
government.

POWER OF JUDICIAN REVIEW:

Refers to the power of the Supreme Court to interpret and make

judgement with respect to the law.

INCEDENTAL POWER:

Power necessary for the discharge of the judicial function.

Activity 3:

The Balance Scale symbolizes the obligation of the law, she holds the scale because
evidence needs to be measured on its own merits in order to reflect the weighing of
evidence. The blindfold represents objectivity and impartiality, that justice, regardless
of money, status, or power, should be carried over without fear or hesitation. And
finally, the sword, it represents security and trust, and implies that justice is willing to
act, and stands by its judgment and ruling. The blade also represents retribution,
which means that justice can be quick and absolute .

As a Senior High School Student, I value the virtue of justice by showing respect to
the law itself and not just that, I can show how I value the virtue of justice by
learning and studying politics and governance to further enhance my knowledge for
me to use in the near future. I can also participate in our school election and join the
ranks of school officers to help change and bring balance in the school. As a student
that is all I can do to value the virtue of justice.

Activity 2:

1. From what I’ve observed, Good Financial Housekeeping is looking good in our
Municipality and still improving.

2. The Municipality of Hinatuan shows great promise when it comes to disaster

preparedness. They involve citizens in the planning process, regularly communicating
the availability of safety information, and subscribing to a robust emergency
notification system. Emergency preparedness saves lives and that is what the
Municipality of Hinatuan Is doing.

3. Social protection in Hinatuan, in my opinion is really great. They really help women,
men and children reach or maintain an adequate standard of living and good health
throughout their lives.

4. From what I observed the Municipality of Hinatuan demonstrate good performance

in business but not as good as other Municipalities.

5. The Municipality of Hinatuan did a great job maintaining the peace and order in the
community by promoting awareness, all of this begins with awareness. Not hope.
Awareness, with local criminality action plans, Peace and Order Council Action Plan
and an active desire to create peace.

1. We need to participate in the different programs and

projects in order for us to know the status of our
community, whether our community is in a good
state or not. Also participating in this programs or
projects can lead to improve outcomes for
communities by sharing aspirations, concerns,
opinions and values. It will also help the Municipal
and Barangay improve the efficiency, legitimacy and
transparency of their decision making. We the
citizens will also benefit from this program and use
the knowledge that we gathered to work together in
Improving the community.

2. My only contribution would be my participation

in the said program, because in doing so I’ll be
able to express my idea, concerns and opinion
about the community and share information
from the program to my colleagues.
