1. Why is stereo typing of roles of men and women negative for an individual and for the
society?

For me, stereo typing was indeed negative for his/her own identity and also for the society.
Considering the fact that gender role in society means on how you would act, speak or even dress
and even other society or ethnic has a gender role expectations and as far as I know, stereotyping
is widely accepted judgement or bias about a person even though it is not always accurate. And
stereotypes about the gender can cause unequal and unfair treatment just like how our society
works up to now.

I’m also aware of the fact that stereotyping of the roles of men and women can affect the
enjoyment of of human rights. One of the underlying causes of sexism, harassment, and brutality
in many ways is negative and inaccurate gender stereotyping, which can lead to a large spectrum
of human rights.

For education, stereotypes often dictate different expectations for boys and girls, such as
completion of education and fields of study to pursue. Stereotypes of gender forms self
perception, partnership behaviors and affect engagement in the field of work. They can impact
the learning environment, educational attainment, subject preference and well-being of a young
person in a school setting.

2. As a good citizen, what are the roles you can play to help in the plans/programs of the
government for the common good?

To begin my story, I was actually serving our barangay community for 2 years and working as a
SPES (Special Program for the Employment of Students). I’m happy about the job considering
the fact that I’m just a student and I would like to earn a little money to help my family but then
working on that program, I’m actually serving my community, I helped to finish tasks which was
connected for the betterment of our community.

One of my work there is to assist the persons that is coming inside and out in PESO Office those
persons was actually looking for a job and it was my role there to assist them. I also work as a
encoder there which I encode every details of persons looking for a job on our community and
because it’s PESO Office that is the one they we’re up to looking for a job and it’s my
responsibility to encode their details and submit their resume to a certain websites and others.

I know for the fact that I’m not just working there to gain skills and work place experience but
also I’m helping and serving the community to help for those who need assistance. I involved
and interact to facilitate a community. As a good citizen that is one of my roles I played on our
community.
