Learning Competency/ies: Describe what is weather and climate Code:
(Taken from the Curriculum Guide) Differentiate climatologist from weatherman

Weather is the condition of the atmosphere from day to day or from time to time .
Climate is the average condition of the atmosphere for a long period of time.
People who study climate are called climatologists. Climatologists use temperature and precipitation records to
define what a place's “normal” climate is like. They do this by averaging 30 years of temperature and precipitation
Key Concepts / Understandings to
be Developed records. They also keep track of this information by making climographs for cities and regions.
A climatologist attempts to discover and explain the impacts of climate so that society can plan its activities,
design its buildings and infrastructure, and anticipate the effects of adverse conditions. Although climate is not
weather, it is defined by the same terms, such as temperature, precipitation, wind, and solar radiation.
Weather forecaster a person whose job is to report what the weather will be in the near future

4.3 Analysis
What is the weather now? Is it good to go to a beach if the weather is bad? Why? Teacher will further discuss
minutes about the lesson.

4.4 Abstraction
Let the pupils give the generalization with the guidance of the teacher by asking:
