Abstract

 One of the needs of students specialized in fashion and apparel is a working table that save
space. A multi-functional table is applicable to give solution to the problem. Foldable table with
various functions is one of the smartest way to solve sapace-saving problems. It is foldable and
can be used as storage. The main objective of this study is to design and develop a multi-
functional foldable table. Specifically, it aimed to (1) design a foldable table with the following
features namely:(a) foldable table; (b) portable sewing machine storage and (3) drawer for
materials and tools. (2) Develop a foldable table in terms of: (a) simplified design; (b)
functionality and effectiveness; and (c) convenience using this equipment. Also, (3) to formulate
a user’s manual.

In this study the researchers used descriptive and developmental method of research. For
developmental type of research, different processes were followed: preparation of materials;
layout and assembling process; polishing; and test the functionality and effectiveness of the
output. For descriptive type of research, research criteria was discussed and research plan was
formulated. The time frame of foldable table was also show on the table provided.

As a summary multi-functional foldable table consists of three main features namely:

foldable table; portable sewing machine storage; drawer for materials and tools. The quality in
terms of features and performance is very high. The formulated findings are: acceptability of the
multi-functional foldable table was very high implying that the product gains acceptance in terms
of simplified design; functionality and effectiveness; and convenience using this equipment. A
user manual for the use of a multi-functional foldable table was developed as an output of the
study. It is recommended that multi-functional foldable table can be used as a. minimal working
table as its main purpose and durability should be looked into due to its lowest response by
taking special care when handling during working hours.
