frameworks for equipment and appliances, and to identify potential opportunity for policy and
technical assistance.

The questionnaire consists of 24 questions, and can be completed within 30 minutes.

Glossary of terms:

Standards and labels - Energy efficiency programs for appliances and equipment that may be
mandatory or voluntary, and include the specification of minimum energy performance standards
(ecodesign) or energy labels.

Energy labels - Informative labels affixed to manufactured products indicating energy performance
that provides consumers with the necessary information to make informed purchase decisions at the
point of sale.

Enforcement / markets surveillance - The actions taken by an authority in response to incidents of


non-compliance with the rules of a programme.

Market surveillance / monitoring, verification and enforcement - Those activities required to monitor
compliance with programme conditions once products are in the marketplace.

Supplier - Defined as a manufacturer, importer or wholesaler of appliances or products included in an


energy efficiency programme.
