ROTC Advocacy:
Based on the video presented regarding ROTC Advocacy,
write in not less than 300 words about your opinion/reaction
pertaining to the importance of ROTC component. Is ROTC
plays a vital role and significance in today's time? Support your
answer. You may cite legitimate/concrete scenarios/evidences
you have read.

The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps pertains to the training that served as a
curriculum in universities and various colleges. ROTC Advocacy presents the
significance of the training itself and how does it mold the youth — being the primary
trainees in this program — to develop their morals and conducts. Being a Filipino citizen
means one should have the sense love for this country — patriotism. If that means to
serve your country through trainings and uplift social responsibilities, then one should
do so. ROTC does not necessitate into serving into a war but to mold the sense of what
does it takes to become a Filipino citizen and how to show your love for your country.
In regards to the status quo, ROTC still have vital obligations and its significance;
especially during this time. Youths supposed to be shown how to serve their country.
Like in this day and age where Filipino youths become to in-depth with other cultures
such as Korean Culture. As not to generalize a whole group, there are evident youths
that show lack of sense in their own country and show to other; where toxicity comes
into play. It is saddening, indeed, to see the “Pag-asa ng Bayan” drift away from its own
roots. Though time is changing, being an inevitable circumstance, it should be cultivated
within ourselves the love for our country and be proud of who we are as a person — a
Filipino.
With it, ROTC plays a major role in today’s society to awaken the roots of the
youth and start coming back from it. To teach and enable them to be reminded
constantly that our ancestors fought for this country. They shed sweat, tears, and
ultimately blood to free ourselves from the conquerors of the time. They built the country
from those to what is known today, and it should be worth reminded of that we should
not be the one’s who would destroy it — us, Filipinos.
