SUMMER PROPOSAL

Proposal Specifics:
 
School/Community:  Derby Elementary School
 
Location of program: Derby Early Childhood Center 
 
Dates and Times for program: Two Separate Groups 
Program Runs from June 29th until July 31st (5 weeks)
Group 1: M, T,  - 8:30 - 12:00
Group 2: W and Th - 8:30 - 12:00
If necessary, have two groups.  If low enrollment, students could attend all four days.
 
How many children do you anticipate will attend?
12 per group
 
Staffing Plan:
1 teacher and 1 classroom assistant (unless 1:1s are needed for specific students)
 
Description of programming and activities:
Summer themes; oceans, beaches, butterflies, gardening, insects, rocks, construction, etc. 
 
DRAFT
Daily Schedule:
8:30-9:00- Brekafast 
9:00-9:15- Circle Time Meeting
9:15-10:15- Free choice + snack 
10:15-11:00- Outdoor Play 
11:00-11:30- Lunch 
11:30-12:00 Story time and outdoor play until pickup 
 
Budget attached. Be sure to include wages, materials, and any potential food costs. (allowable staff wages: Teacher
$30/hour; Paraprofessional $15)  
Wages - Teacher and Certified Teacher assistant - 5 hrs per day/4 days per week so 20 hours each.  10 hours
included for preparation of classroom and clean up of classroom.  Total of 110 hours each.  Teacher ($3300)
Certified Teacher: Assistant ($3300)
Materials - $250 (Will use classroom supplies and use materials budget to replace.
Snack Costs - $150 for miscellaneous snacks
Total Budget - $7000
Description of snacks and meals being provided
Meals provided by Derby Elementary School to all students attending the program.  Breakfast and Lunch
Light snack of goldfish and/or pretzels available for a small snack time 
Description of any possible collaborations occurring with other groups, programs and/or agencies.
 
Description of advertising and application process for the program
Derby Website and Derby Facebook Page.  Tyrah has created a flyer that can be posted in both places and included
with DES parent mailings.
 
COVID Precautions - Tyrah and paraprofessional or certified teacher assistant will wear a mask.  Students and staff
will be temperature checked upon entering the building.  Everyone will wash hands upon entering building and
throughout the day.  Plans are being made to spend as much time as possible outside.
