Reflection Paper
As I was eagerly waiting for this class due to the high interest of mine in system thinking.
Before this class, I had never studied system & logical thinking broadly. The first class
was very much fruitful and exciting. There were couple of important points that left in
my mind after the class. One is the simulation game, behavior Over time (BOI), Feedback
What I learned doing the simulation game (Fishbank Company) is that team collaboration
unintended results. The collaboration must also have to done with the other business
partners or stakeholders. As we did not collaborate with other competitors, deep ocean
fish population decreased, and it’s alarmed an environmental effect. Beside that
regardless of maximizing assets, one’s must possess a business philosophy that emphasize
the sustainability in its operating activities. And without holistic view of a situation from
The two-feedback loop was little bit critical to understand. The exercise was helpful but
could not finish it by time. As far as my understanding, reinforce & balancing Feedback
loop has S & O arrays which means Same & Opposite. But the difficulties are the when
dynamics, we must number it. By numbering we can analyze and understand a situation.
Or draw a perspective. By the way, I think I need to study further on this from the

Unintended/Unexpected Results:
I think this was one of the important points that left good impression on me. One of the
goals of the system thinking is to avoid such results or outcome. Therefore, it is crucial
to understand the surrounding events, behavior patterns, structure and mental model
suggested in the Model. Moreover, Identifying the issues, recognize pattern, verifying the
In conclusion, I would say I have learned above mentioned key points from the class
specially understating the dynamics and implement System thinking model. If want to
seek out better outcomes from the complicated situations, we must think differently and
