1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to give the guidance to safe perform operation activity for
Coal Sampler Operation.

2. SCOPE
This document is applicable to for as-received soal sampling to provide data for coal
receipts, and as-fired coal sampling to provide data for silo feeding.

4. RESPONSIBILITIES
4.1 Author shall be responsible for developing and periodically reviewing and updating (if
applicable) this document
4.2 Jetty & Material Manager (J&M Manager) is responsible for developing and periodically
reviewing and updating (if applicable) these work instructions and ensuring the correct
implemation of these work instructions by relevant employees.
4.3 Jetty & Material Operation Leader (J&M Leader) is responsible for reviewing these work
instructions and making evaluations for periodic improvements.
4.4 Jetty & Material Shift Supervisor (J&M Shift Supervisor) is responsible for:
4.4.1 Make sure subordinates carry out this work instruction.
4.4.2 Oversee and monitor these work instructions.
4.4.3 Check and acknowledge daily shift reports.

4.5 Jetty & Material Control room Operator has overall responsibility for carrying out, inspecting
and recording all activities during starting and stopping coal sampling operations.
4.6 Jetty & Material Patrol Operators have overall responsibility for checking and recording all
activities during the start and closure of Coal Sampling Operations.

5. SAFETY & ENVIROMENT


5.1 Safety
1. Leader or Supervisor shall establish the General Safety, i.e. Safe personal
protective equipment, Safe access to and from the work place, safe place of work,
refer to Safety Rule.
2. Operator must keep the general safety that has been established by his superiors
during operation activity.
3. Make sure all the coal sampler equipment is safe without damage
4. The operator records if during operation there is abnormal equipment
5. Coal sampling shall be operated by qualified operators that are based on User’s
policy.

2. Environment
1. Ensuring personnel under this work instruction adhere to relevant Environmental
Control Measures and relevant site-specific Method Statements, etc.
2. Reporting immediately to the Environmental Section where there has been a
Breach of agreed instruction: where there has been a spillage of a potentially
environmentally harmful substance: where there has been an unauthorised
discharge to ground, water or air: where there has been damage to a protected
habitat.
3. The waste generated from this process, such a gloves or other used materials,
must be cleaned and disposed the specific dust bin that has been provided by
environment section.

6. WORK INSTRUCTION
1. Preparation
1. Before starting the sampler, must check device condition and working
environment carefully, assure everything is normal.
2. Check all equipment in the coal sample.
3. Make sure the equipment has been energized.
4. before taking the sampling test the coal sampling equipment no load operating,
to ensure that coal sampling is operating normally.
5. J&M shift operator confirm to J&M control room operator that coal sampler is
ready to start.

1. Auto Mode
1. Make sure the belt conveyor 502A/B & 515A/B running.
2. Ensure that the select switch at Panel Box in remote position.
3. Local operator confirm to J&M control room operator that coal sampler
is ready to start.
4. Start Coal Sampler via monitor CCR.
5. Local operators ensure Coal Sampler movements are in procedure.

2. Manual Mode
1. Make sure all coal sampling equipment is in normal and standby position.
2. Make sure the power supply is in the energize position.
3. Make sure the belt conveyor 502A/B & 515A/B running.
4. Move the sampling selector to the local position.
5. Press the start button on the local panel.
6. Make sure the motor is running.

3. Monitoring Equipment During Operation


1. Make sure the operation process runs in sequence
2. There shall be no obvious vibration of the machine body during operation.
The amplitude at the bearing should be below 0.06mm.
3. No sound of metal collision is allowed in operation.
4. The bearing temperature in continuous operation shall not be more than 35
℃, bearing temperature rise shall not be greater than 80 ℃.
5. Check if there is abnormal sound or vibration.
6. Check if there is oil leakage in the reducer, bearing and other lubrication
parts.
7. Check whether the tension device is in good operation and whether it is stuck
or not.
8. Check whether the bolts on the foundation and various components are
loose.

3. Stop Procedure
1. Auto Mode
1. The local operator confirmed to the CCR Operator that the operation of the
Coal Sampler was complete.
2. Click stop and reset on the monitor CCR.
3. Make sure coal sampling is in the stop position.
4. Clean the coal sampling area in the event of a coal spill.

2. Manual Mode
1. When sampling is complete press the stop button on the local panel.
2. Move the remote position selector in the local panel.
3. Make sure coal sampling is in the stop position.
4. Clean the coal sampling area in the event of a coal spill.

4. Emergency
In case of emergency, it is mandatory to report first to the JTM Shift Supervisor to proceed
to the JTM Operation Leader and life-saving actions must be taken immediately if
necessary.
