ABSTRACT

Advance Symbiosis on Medical Device its IoT Tracker Hospital Management is

designed to provide user with single mechanism to express a preference to allow or limit
online track for hospital devices by using an application of Internet of Things (IoT) which is
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) software. The loss and underutilisation of
hospital assets costs the healthcare sector millions of each year. Particularly in acute
hospitals, typically large multi-floored sites with over 10,000 assets, it's a struggle to keep
track of equipment with staff clocking up hours and miles just searching for used devices,
unused devices or out of service equipment. The objectives of this project are to develop a
medical devices tracker using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) sensor to be monitor through
(MIT) apps Inventor software. Moreover, this project is to analyse the history of devices
localization in hospital without affect the user or plan preventive maintenance schedule.
Lastly, this project objective is to design a suitable distance of tracker by detecting or
tracking medical devices within in 10 meter to 20 meters. Each medical device has a tag
attach to it which can transmit unique identity several times a minute known as Bluetooth
Low Energy (BLE) tags. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) reader console install at specific fixed
point to receive signals from an active Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) tag and instantly update
the software on Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) application. The expected
output of this project is to display the status and location of the medical devices by using
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) software and use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
to measure the accuracy of the tracker within 10 meter to 20 meters range.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

The hospital medical equipment's are usually lost from it predetermined place. Today
there are more than 10,000 types of medical devices available. The selection of suitable
medical equipment always depends on local, regional or national requirements factors to
consider include the type of health facility where the devices are to be used, the health work
force available and the burden of diseases experienced in the specific catchment area. It is
therefore impossible to make a list of medical equipment which would be exhaustive or
universally applicable. Staff time spend in track medical devices are increase. User cannot
find the medical devices on time because they have to ask another staff to locate the exact
location of the equipment. This also can affect plan preventive maintenance schedule for
retain devices at desire level of quality. Staff efficiency and hospital services were decreases
towards patients care. Patient will report and complain toward hospital services and staff
efficiency because of poor care and cannot perform well in the ward especially when
emergencies event occur.

OBJECTIVES

 To develop a medical devices tracker using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) sensor to be
monitor through MIT apps Inventor software.
 To analyse the history of devices localization in a hospital without affect the user or
plan preventive maintenance schedule.
 To design a suitable distance of tracker by detecting or tracking medical devices
within in 10 meter to 20 meters.

SCOPE AND LIMITATION

There are two main parts that involved in this project which is hardware and software.
For the hardware, this project used an electric device such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
tag sensor and NODEMCU ESP32 Arduino Wifi and dual mode Bluetooth. While for the
software, this project implements Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) software to
program and display location of medical equipment's. The software will develop and monitor
by the user and biomedical department. The main focus respondent for Advance Symbiosis
on Medical Device its IoT Tracker Hospital Management is for user who is specifically
responsible to take care of medical equipment's and biomedical department. This project must
be assign to specific individual who is person in charge with specific age and qualification. It
cannot be used by common individuals. This project mainly use in general critical and
emergency ward. This device also is not suitable for patients that use high frequency medical
equipment for undergo a treatment. This device is acceptable to be use in clinic or in a
hospital with measure the accuracy of the tracker within 10 meter to 20 meters range.

SIGNIFICANT OF THE PROJECT

Advance Symbiosis on Medical Device its IoT Tracker Hospital Management will
overcome the issues that usually happen not just in normal or critical ward but it also
overcomes issues among the Biomedical Department. For example, nurses waste too much
time to find the medical equipment during diagnostic the patient. At the same time, nurse's
cares towards the patients have become less efficient and cause excessive budget. This
project will facilitate nurse in track medical device more accurate. For Biomedical
Department, more than 40% of their time search for medical equipment especially during a
plan preventive maintenance purposes. This device can help nurses and biomedical
department to search for their equipment using Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
software system. The importance of this project is the device can ease and improve hospital
stuff services towards patients in form of technical and clinical. Other than that, it can reduce
the cost of hospital budget to renew the loss equipment in hospital. The impact of the device
is painless, user friendly, affordable and humanity sense.
