The Project
What you will learn: vintage advertisements and posters, visual literacy, Photoshop,
and Illustrator

Applying visual literacy to advertisements and media: By being able to interpret


the imagery around you, you can critically assess the advertisements, posters, and
other media you encounter.

Why is this important? Advertisements and other media often present subliminal
messages beyond the represented imagery.
The Project
What we will be doing:

● You will be researching vintage advertisements and posters and


re-designing them in Photoshop or Illustrator.
● Once you pick an image, you will study both the imagery and the meaning
of the image.
● You will then create a contemporary design.
