ACTIVITY:
1. What are the media literacy skills that can help people?
Media literacy enables people to access, analyze, evaluate, and create media in
a variety of forms. Through the help of traditional media and new technologies, it
empowers citizens by providing competencies (knowledge and skills). It entails the
following:
 Develop critical thinking skills.
 Understand how media messages shape our culture and society.
 Identify target marketing strategies.
 Recognize what media maker wants us to believe or do.
 Name the techniques of persuasion used.
 Recognize bias, spin, misinformation and lies.
 Discover the parts of the story that are not being told.
 Evaluate media messages based on our experiences, skills, beliefs, and values.
 Create and distribute our own media messages.
 Advocate for media justice.

2. An information literate person can do what?


Information literate person possess competencies which are effective in all
stages of the lifecycle of documents of all kinds. It includes the capacity to understand
the ethical implications of these documents, and the ability to behave in an ethical way
throughout these stages.
 Determine the extent of information needed.
 Access the needed information effectively and efficiently.
 Evaluate information and its sources critically.
 Incorporate selected information into one’s knowledge base.
 Use information effectively to accomplish a specific purpose.
 Understand the economic, legal, and social issues surrounding the use of
information, and access and use information ethically and legally.

3. New ways to read and write in Information Literacy?


The ability to recognize when information is needed, and to locate, evaluate, and
effectively communicate information in its various formats is called information Literacy.
It imposes two ways in order to be executed: Consuming Information and Producing
Information.

4. Learners who have obtained the technology literacy are able to do what?
It is expected that they can work independently or with others responsibly,
appropriately, and effectively use technological tools. With the tools stated on the
discussion, an individual can access, manage, integrate, evaluate, create and
communicate information. Therefore, showcasing the following:
 Problem – solve
 Communication.
 Locate, use and synthesize information found using technology.
 Develop skills necessary to function in the 21st century.

 In your opinion, how can communication be affected by media and information?


I believe that media and information serve as a crucial bridging platform in
communication. As an example, media—physical objects used to communicate—such
as mass media (radio, television, computers, film, etc.) are traditionally the source of
credible and certified information. Thus, these pieces of information (processed data,
knowledge derived from study, experience, instruction, signals, or symbols) should
reflect the accountability of communicator to the mass audience. Indeed,
communication is intermingled with media and information.
