Day 1: Suceava – Fălticeni – Râşca – Slătioara –


Baia – Mălini

Fălticeni
Located at 25 km from Suceava, the Fălticeni town or the so called „The Wonderful
Grove”, has it’s significant place in the spiritual life of the region and country.
In Fălticeni we can visit: Ion Irimescu Museum of Art, The Museum of Woods and
Waters, Mihail Sadoneanu Memorial House.
Here can be found popular creators like: Benţa Codrin and Nucu woodcarvers and
Oliver Tănase who is specialized in masks.

Râşca
Not far from Fălticeni, at 20 km we arrive at the Râşca
Monastery fonded by Peter Rareş in 1542 and declared a
UNESCO monument.
Worthy of note are the church’s murals, due to the way the
painter in 1872 had reconstituted the originals paintings.

Slătioara
From Râşca we go to the Slătioara Monastery, which is situated in
Slătioara village at 30 km from Fălticeni.

Baia
After we visited Slătioara, the settlement of Baia can be found,
the first capital of Moldavia, and one of the ancient location
from Est of the Carpathians . Baia is documentary certificated
since 1300, time which is known to be made the city’s seal.
Mălini
Mălini is documentary certificated in one’s of Stephen the Great document since 1498.
The name of the village comes from a bird cherry forest, trees which we can see even nowadays.
Here we can visit the Nicolae Labiş Memorial Museum, opened in 1963.

Day 2 Slatina – Suceava

Slatina
The Slatina Monastery is funded by Alexander Lăpuşneanu and
was built in 1554-1558. The name Slatina which means salty waters
comes from a salty spring. The legend tells that here lived a solitary man
that told to Alexander Lăpuşneanu to build the monastery in a place that
grew a sycamore maple tree.

Suceava
Now we can return to the point from which we departed and we shall visit The Throne
Citatel and The Museum of The Bucowina Village.
Suceava is the administritatice seat of the country , situated approximately in the centre
of Suceava Plateau.
The Suceava Thore Citadel is documentary certificated at
February 11th 1388, built in the time of Peter I. In our attempt to enter
the citadel we will meet four defensive elements: defensive pit, acces
bridge , defensive walls and the trap that the historics gave the name of
the „mouse trap”.
The Museum of the Bukowina Village is situated in the Citadel
Park. It is conceived as a traditional village from bukowina, in a open air
section and has 80 monuments of popular architecture: church, school,
workshops, rustic farm, taproom.
If we have time we can also visit: The Zamca Fortress, the
Princely Court, The Princely Inn, Mirăuţi Church, The Saint John the
New Monastery, The Church of Saint Demeterios, The Church of the Resurection, The Church
of Saint Nicholas, The History Museum, The Planetarium, The Natural Science Museum.
