Vacancy Announcement for Database Officer
The Karen Department of Health and Welfare (KDHW) is currently seeking for the Database Officer
position (1 post).
Responsibilities:
The database officer will work under the direct supervision of Monitoring and Evaluation
Manager and perform the following duties;
▪ Design, develop, test, implement and manage databases, spreadsheets and other data
tools and their revisions as well as data collection procedures
▪ Ensure high value data with maximum accuracy, consistency and reliability are
acquired by project teams for further decision making and planning
▪ Develop proper data backup, restoration, data validation and security procedures to
ensure data integrity, availability and to prevent data loss.
▪ Implement upgrades to the data entry and data storing systems whenever necessary
▪ Support M&E manager and M&E officer in developing, implementation and
management of project indicators.
▪ Assist M&E manager in analysis and dissemination of information relevant to project
activities.
▪ Work closely with data assistants from projects under KDHW health program and
ensure the smooth implementation of respective data collection, documentation, data
entry and analysis procedures.
▪ Check, compile and review monthly and quarterly report from projects and give
feedback in time to respective data assistant.
▪ Identify strengths and weaknesses in existing data collection and management
systems and propose solutions alongside with the M&E Manager
▪ Support the Program Managers and M&E manager to ensure that donor, partner, and
Senior Management data queries are addressed in an accurate and timely manner
▪ Provide training regarding data collection and entry, information system and
standards to data assistants as required.
▪ Provide technical support in issue relating database usage and administration which
includes but not limited to trouble shooting for data entry and access to existing
databases
▪ Perform necessary field visits to ensure the quality of data collected by projects and to
verify the accuracy of reported data.
▪ Coordinate and collaborate closely with KDHW health program and project staff,
partner’s M&E units and other stakeholders as needed
▪ Any other relevant duties which may be assigned by M&E manager
