A.

New Guidelines and Protocol in Going to Kalanggaman Island during the Period August, 2020 and until
this shall be Duly lifted back to its accepted Normal Standard Procedure.

B. Objectives:
1. These guidelines are primarily set for the purpose of observing the prevention steps and avoidance of the
potential proliferation of the COVID – 19 pandemic situations, as you go and back from Kalanggaman
Island.
2. These specifically refer further to the adherence of the set guidelines and restrictions of movements in the
taking of pump boat ride towards and/or going back from Kalanggaman Island.

C. Situational and Specific Data to be observed in this period


C.1 Carrying capacity of the island at any time is set at: 250 visitors only.
C.2 Age bracket of visitors allowed in the island is 21 to 59 years old only.
C.3 Travel schedules to Kalanggaman are for Daytrip only
C.4 Operational Schedule of Kalanggaman Island are for 6 days per week only (Tuesday –
Sunday).
C.5 Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited in the Island (beverages containing 12 % and above
alcohol)
C.6 Requirements required at the front desk prior to boarding.
C.6.1 Government ID or local ID as resident of Palompon, leyte.
C.6.2 Certification from barangay captain on his/her personal knowledge of the person concerned.
C.6.3 Copy of the fully filled in and approved manifest and passengers by the coast guard officer.
C.6.4 Signed Waiver by each group.
C.6.5 Guests own alcohol or sanitizers.

C.7 Operating guidelines


C.7.1 Front desk Operating Guidelines
C.7.1.1 All trips for Kalanggaman shall be duly cleared by the coast guard
officer/s.
C.7.1.2 Guests with incomplete requirements shall not be allowed to go to the
Island.
C.7.1.3 Strict imposition of “No Mask No Entry Policy, Hand washing, and observance
of Social Distancing at all times” upon entering the Tourism Building
C.7.1.4 Only one (1) representative per group is allowed to go to front
desk to avoid congestion and maintain Physical Distancing.
C.7.1.5 Conduct of regular disinfection and sanitation of all the surfaces and area that is
frequently touched and occupied by the guests like Comfort Rooms, Front Desk Counter, Tables, Chairs and
etc. must be practiced at all times.
C.7.1.6 Practice of doing the “Mabuhay Gestures” to greet the guests must be done instead of
any courtesy that involves physical contact like handshakes or high five.
C.7.1.7 Advance booking for reservation is advisable and highly encouraged thru the front desk

C.7.1.8 Travel schedules to Kalanggaman are for Daytrip only
6:30 a.m. Starting Departure Time (from mainland to the island)
4:00 p.m. Pick-up Time (from the island to the mainland)

C.7.1.9 Observe Entrance and Exit of the Tourism establishment.
C.7.1.10 All belongings shall be inspected and all guests’ temperature shall be scanned before
embarking the pump boat.
C.7.1.11 For reservations and walk-ins, maximum of 15 pax per group only. In excess to
that, it will be considered one (1) different group.
C.7.1.12 All staffs are required to wear mask at all times, observe physical distancing and
maintain sanitation at all times.
C.7.1.13 Availability of alcohol, sanitizers, and/or disinfectant in the receiving area shall be
visible for guests’ use.
C.7.1.14 Each guest shall be provided with a colored wrist band. One color per group as an
identification as to with who’s group a certain guest belong.
C.7.1.15 Carry-on the cleanliness and the Solid Waste Management of the area by the use of
the waste bag provided. Accordingly observe the ”Di-Malata” waste to be contained in the black
plastic bag and the “Malata” waste in the white plastic bag.
C.7.1.16 All trash must be brought back to the mainland.

C.7.2 Pump boat Operating Guidelines


These are in addition to the previously set guidelines by the PMETC,Inc wherein those applicable
guidelines in this pandemic times are still to be followed (refer to PMETC,Inc. Resolution No.) and
those that are no longer applicable shall be changed depending on what is acceptable and required to
the Standard of the New Normal.
C.7.2.1 All pump boat crew are required to wear mask at all times and maintain the 2 meters away
when talking to the guests.
C.7.2.2 All pump boats are required to have the proper markings on their pump boat seats as a
guide for the guests to maintain physical distancing.
C.7.2.3 Provision of alcohol, sanitizers, and/or disinfectant by all pump boats shall be visible for
the guests’ use.
C.7.2.4 Pump boats’ new seating capacity

C.7.2.5 Conduct of regular disinfection and sanitation of all the surfaces
and area that is frequently touched and occupied by the guests
must be practiced every right after disembarkation of guests.

C.7.3 Kalanggaman Island Operating Guidelines


C.7.3.1 Before disembarkation, the Tourists must be welcomed and re-oriented with the do’s and
don’ts esp. with the new guidelines pertaining to the new guidelines in this pandemic that are to be imposed
in the island. They shall be ushered to their specific cottages one at a time.
C.7.3.2 All guests are required to observe physical distancing anywhere in the island, maintain
sanitation, wear mask at all times (except during water activities).
C.7.2.3 Guests are expected to bring their own hand sanitizers, alcohol, and/or disinfectant for their
own use.
C.7.2.4 Conduct of regular disinfection and sanitation of all the surfaces and area that is
frequently touched and occupied by the guests like Comfort Rooms, Dressing Rooms, Cottages, Tables,
Chairs and etc. must be practiced every right after the guests’ use.
C.7.2.5 One (1) group only per cottage.
C.7.2.6 The use of the grilling station shall be limited to a 4 group use at a
time and shall limit to only 2 persons per group.

C.8 Operational Flow


C.8.1 Front desk Operational Flow
Step 1. Wash hands at the designated hand washing area before going in the Tourism Office
Step 2. Secure Manifesto, Sign the Waiver, and Prepare all other necessary requirements at the
information desk.
Step 3. Submit all required documents at the front desk.
(only one (1) representative is allowed to go to the front desk, others may advance to the waiting area)
Step 4. A trip ticket will be issued for the entrance fee.
Step 5. Proceed to the waiting area and wait for the pump boat assignment.
You will be notified as soon as the pump boat is available and ready.

Step 6. Once pump boat is ready, pay the amount written in the trip ticket at the cashier.
Step 7. Proceed to the wharf for the inspection of belongings, thermal scanning, and pre-
departure orientation.
Step 8. Upon embarkation, you will be provided with a colored wrist band as a group
identification.
Step 9. Follow the do’s and don’ts while on the pump boat and enjoy the sea.

C.8.2 Kalanggaman Island Operational Flow


Step 1. Before disembarkation you will be welcomed and a re-orientation of the new island
protocols will be conducted.
Step 2. You will be then ushered to your assigned cottage.
Step 3. While on the island guests are expected to follow all protocols esp. the social distancing,
wearing of mask, frequent hand sanitizing, cough etiquette, and all the do’s and don’ts.
Step 4. Before leaving the island bring nothing but your own garbage.
