4. A manufacturer of fluorescent bulbs claims that mean life of fluorescent bulb is 400 hours. A sample
of 35 fluorescent bulbs was taken and it showed a mean of 399 hours with a standard deviation of
1.1. hours. Is the mean life different from 400 hours? Use the 0.05 significance level.

5. A medical research wishes to know whether there is difference in the mean length of time it takes
the four types of medicine to take effect and provide relief for a person suffering from fever.

6. A gym instructor wants to determine whether age of a person has something to do with the number
of days that such person engages into exercise. A random sample of 264 persons is selected and the
