Climate Change

How can we best prevent climate change, and help protect our world? This is the

question that continuously plays in my head. Our world is changing in the blink of the eye, and

not for the better. Climate change is a constant debate and struggle. Whether it’s the world I see

daily or the world I see over a screen, we are failing the earth. It seems as if some people don’t

even care anymore. So many things have changed already, animals are going extinct, plants

are dying. I want my future kids to be able to still see the beautiful things I love and see now.

The large question is will it all still be there? Ten, twenty, even thirty years from now, what will

be gone? There is a constant question of what we can do to prevent the world as a whole from

failing. Some ideas that are repeated continuously throughout the articles is how important

climate sensitivity is. Most of the articles state that simply getting the word out about climate

change can help the movement. The more that people know about it, the more attention and

funding it can get. One other big idea that is repeated continuously is what individuals at home

can do to their homes and factors they can change in their everyday life that can help stop

climate change.

While most articles have the same topics and agree with the same main point there are

a various amount of different ideas. For example on the “Nasa Global Climate Change''

website they state how it will take years, even decades to create a change. The article

states how big changes must be made to have an effect. While the article “How you can

stop global warming” focuses on things individuals will do. The article clearly focuses on

things at homes the organization and author of the article believe will help stop climate

change. Both articles believe in climate change but see the way there can be a change in

different ways. Rafi Lezter states in the article “Are We Really Running Out of Time'' how

we only have eleven years left to stop climate change. Experts have said if change just

does not happen soon we will have no hope. In the article “Climate Connections'' there is

a slight disagreement on how much time we need. In the article there is an agreement that

there needs to be a change as soon as possible. But there is more of an open window and

not so specific timeline on when the change needs to exactly happen.

A common misconception on climate change is that it is not real. There are thousand

people around the world who refuse to believe and see the change that is happening right

before their eyes. Whether it is ignorance or denial there are people who have and or will

always not believe in the change. Another misconception is that there is nothing we can

do to stop climate change. Some people just assume since we can't control the larger

factors that contribute to climate change, most just give up. When little know how many

small and simple things a person can do around the house that can change the world in

such a large way.
