Teacher Student
A. Routinary Activities
-Good Morning Class!
-Let us all stand and say good morning!
-Good Morning Sir Allaine!
Before we formally start the class, I request everyone to
kindly pick up the pieces of paper, plastic wrappers and
other things under your chairs, then sit properly and pay
attention to the entire class discussion.

Once that is all set and done, last meeting I’ve assigned
Rochelle to be the next news reporter. Rochelle you are
the news reporter of the day. What is our news report?
-Today is Monday, August 20, 2018, it is a sunny/rainy
morning, the sun is not/shining bright, there are _____
students present , _____ boy/s and _____ girl/s, (the
absents were _______________)
Thank you Rochelle, next meeting I will assign
Frederick as our next news reporter.
Sarah, what do you think is the lesson on the last time
we’ve met?
-Theory of Evolution
Let’s check if you we’re still able to recall the lesson.
What is Darwin’s Theory of Evolution? Can you define
what the theory is, Joven?
- is the theory stating that organisms change over time as
a result of changes in heritable physical or behavioral
traits to adapt to the environment.
That’s great Joven, how about the Natural Selection?
Ella, can you share to the class what the Natural
Selection is?
-Natural selection is the process where organisms with
favorable traits are more likely to reproduce
Thank you, Ella. How about Charles Darwin? Who is
Charles Darwin? Can you tell your classmates what
you’ve learned Carmella?
- Charles Robert Darwin was a biologist, best known for
his contributions to the science of evolution
Precisely, thank you Carmella. Based on your answers it
is apparent that everyone understood the lesson.
B. Motivation
We’ve learned about Charles Darwin, we’ve learned
what the Theory of Evolution and Natural Selections are
and for the continuation of our lesson last time, I’ve
prepared a story for everyone.

Carmella, do you like stories?

-Yes, Sir!
Very well, I’ve prepared a story but I am not the one
who’s going to tell it, you are. There will be guides for
you class to follow track on what are the sequences of
the story. Our story is all about how God created the
world.

Jay-Ar, are you ready?

-Yes, Sir!
Well then, let the story begin.
Back then, the Earth was formless, empty, and dark,
and God's Spirit moved over the waters preparing to
perform God's creative World and then God began to
speak into existence his creation.

What happened on the first day, Irene?

-God created light and separated the light from the
darkness, calling light "day" and darkness "night."
Very good, how about on the second day, Arlyn?
-God created the Skies
Thank you, how about you Mae Jean? What do you
think happened next?
-God created the lands, seas, plants and trees
Very good, what did God created on the fourth day,
Jasmine?
-God created the fishes and the birds
How about His creation the next day, Camille?
-God created the animals and we humans too, He created
Adam and Eve
Thank you, how about on the 7th day? Carmella?
-God had finished his work of creation, blessing it and
making it holy
Thank you very much, that is how God created the Earth
according to the bible.

C. Discussion/Presentation/Lesson Proper
Everyone listen, all of you may wonder what the deal
behind the story is. It will play a part on our discussion
for today, Camille, what do you think is the lesson for
today?
- I believe we are going to talk about the theories
explaining the origin of the world.
Exactly, our lesson is all about the Theories on the
Origin of the World. Last time, I’ve left a reading
assignment to everyone. Have you read the reading
material, Jay-Ar?
-Yes, Sir
How about you Jewel?
-Yes, Sir
Have you ever wondered how the world started? How all
of this came into being? Ever heard of the Big Bang
theory? How about the Planetissimal Theory? Today we
are going to learn everything about it.

As you can see, there were different pictures on the

board, on the screen as we progress, there were mixed
letters that states the name of the theories, next to the
pictures were different definitions of these theories and
next to these definitions were the people behind those
theories.

The goal of our discussion is to match the definitions

and the people to the theories and understand the
concepts behind these theories regarding the origin of
the world.

Are you ready?

-Yes, Sir
Very good! Let’s get started. We will start on the
Scientific Theories. Look at the first picture, what do
you think is the theory behind the picture? Mary Jane,
can you tell it to the class?
-Nebular Theory, Sir
Nice, Mary Jane. Remain standing; based on what
you’ve read, among these definitions, what do you think
describes the Nebular Theory?
-Stars are born from clouds of interstellar gas and dust.
According to this theory, our own solar system formed
about 4.6 billion years ago from a nebula.
Thank you, Mary Jane. Kindly match the theory with the
definition. Let’s study the theory more, Carmella, can
you define what nebula is?
-The word “nebula” is Latin for “cloud”
Very Good, Carmella. According to the theory, the Solar
System which includes the Earth came from a nebula.
The nebula is rapidly rotating on the universe that
caused the interaction between the ions and electrons.

What do you think is the result of the interaction, Joven?

-It will explode on different directions that will produce
numerous heavenly bodies.
That’s correct Joven, and that’s how the Solar System
started. Is it clear, Kristel?
-Yes, Sir.
Next, Rochelle. Who do you think are the person/s
behind the theory? Can you locate them on the board?
-Yes, Sir. (Immanuel Kant, Pierre Simon Laplace)
That’s correct! Thank you, Rochelle. That’s the Nebular
theory. Let’s move on to the next one. Rochelle, what do
you think is the next theory?
-The Dust-Cloud theory
Exactly, that is correct Rochelle. What do you think is
the definition that describes the dust-cloud theory?
-“Cloud of dust and gas condensed to form our sun and
planets.”
Thank you Rochelle, in the beginning, this cloud was
shaped like a gigantic ball. What is this giant ball made
up of? Let me hear from you Irene.
-This ball was filled with both dust and gases. The gases
were hydrogen and helium.
The dust was the residue of novas. Can you tell me what
novas are?
-These are exploding stars
That’s correct! From the huge ball of cloud, what will
happen next? Camille, what do you think will happen?
-It will turn into a flat disk; through continuous rotations
It will explode on different directions that will produce
numerous heavenly bodies.
That’s correct, Camille. It is the same as the nebular,
only difference is that there were dusts involved in this
theory. Who do you think is the person behind the
theory? Can you locate Frederick?
-(Fred Whipple)
That is correct! That is the Dust Cloud theory
Let’s move on to another theory, Korina, what do you
think is the next theory?
-Dynamic Encounter Theory
That’s correct. Identify the definition describing the
Dynamic Encounter Theory.
-Theory for the historical origin of the planets as a result
of a near collision of the sun and a comet.
Frederick, what do you think happened when the sun
and the comet collide?
-Some residues of the explosion will turn into planets
and other heavenly bodies.
That’s correct! Now, can you locate the person behind
the theory?
-(Georges Louis Leclerc Buffon)
Thank you, that’s one of Buffon’s theories on the
Earth’s origin
The next theory will be told by Joven, what do you think
is the next theory?
-Condensation, Sir
That’s correct! What do you think is the description of
the theory?
-Repetitive explosion of mass of hydrogen gas and
atomic dust resulting to the formation of the sun, then
the moon and the planets, respectively.
Very good, Joven. Now can you locate the person
behind the theory?
-(Robert Jastrow)
That’s excellent, Joven! Jewel, what do you think is the
next theory?
-Solar Disruption Theory
Amazing. Kindly locate the definition of the theory.
-Collision of the Sun and a star resulting to the
formation of the sun, then the moon and the planets,
respectively.
That’s good. Then, the same process occurred as to the
aforementioned theories we’ve learned earlier. Who
developed the theory?
-(Georges Louis Leclerc Buffon)
Thank you, the next theory will be explained to us by
Sarah. Sarah, what do you think is the next theory?
-Planetissimal Theory
What do you think is the explanation behind the theory?
-Collision of two planetoids resulting to the formation of
the sun, then the moon and the planets, respectively
That’s correct, now who do you think developed the
theory?
(Thomas Chamberlin)
Nice, what’s the next theory Christine?
-Collision Theory
Can you locate the definition behind the theory?
-Collision of two huge stars resulting to the formation of
the sun, then the moon and the planets, respectively
Thank you, who is the person behind the theory?
-(William Lewis)
Elizabeth, what do you think is the next theory?
-Big Bang Theory
That’s correct? What is the definition behind the theory?
-The universe began as a very hot, small, and dense
super force with no stars, atoms, form, or structure. Then
about 13.7 billion years ago, space expanded very
quickly. This started the formation of atoms, which
eventually led to the formation of stars and galaxies.
That’s correct! From a single structure it expanded and
exploded in a huge fashion resulting to the formation of
the heavenly bodies. Elizabeth, can you tell the class
who is the person behind the theory?
-(Georges Lemaitre)
That’s correct. Did you understand the Scientific
theories about the Origin of the World? Are there any
questions?
-Yes, Sir. None, Sir
Very well, let’s discuss the religious standpoint on the
theory of the world. Who were the group of people that
believe on the origin of the world as a creation of God?
Can you tell them to the class Arlyn?
-Creationists
In what book of the bible are their arguments stated?
-In the book of Genesis
Correct! Now, let’s look at the points and arguments that
the Creationists defend on as they don’t believe on the
Scientific Theories. Frederick, can you give one
argument?
The sun and the planets were impossible to undergo the
process of condensation from the clouds and dust.
Why?
The clouds and dusts were only capable of producing
small portions of mass when they condensate, most of
them were liquefied or in fluid. Producing sun and earth
through it is illogical.
Great! What’s the next argument Mae Jean?
Some planets have huge and tilted orbits and it will be
impossible for planets to collide because of the pull of
gravity.
Good! How about another one? Kristel?
The Creationists don’t believe that any explosion or
collision can produce beauty or perfection; instead it will
only produce chaos.
That’s amazing Kristel, logically, if there’s two cars
exploding, chaos and destruction will be the result and
not a pleasant outcome that will benefit the lives of
everyone.
That’s excellent! Based on the readings, give me a huge
difference between the two opposing factions of
theorists. Can I hear your voice, Jasmine?
-On the Creationists, the world was 12,000 years old
while the Scientific theorists aged the earth for about 15
billion years.
C. Generalization
Are there any other questions class?
-none, sir
If there’s none, I’m the one who’s going to ask the
questions. What is the theory stating that the world came
from the collision of two planetoids? Christine?
-Planetissimal Theory
Thank you Christine, Kristel can you tell the theory that
states the earth came from the collision of two stars?
-Collision Theory
D. Application
Joven, what do you think are the benefits of
understanding these theories?
-We are able to appreciate the complexity and diversity
of the world as we were gifted a beautiful world no
matter how it was created
Very good! Very good Indeed! It seems to me that you
all understood the lesson.
IV. Quiz (Evaluation)
We will have a quiz, keep all of the things on your desks
and bring out only your pen. Read the directions, answer
the quiz rationally and mind your own paper. Anyone
that I’ll see cheating will automatically be deducted 5
points on the quiz.
You have 5 minutes to answer the quiz.
Get one test paper and pass.
*****
Please pass your papers forward.
V. Assignment
For your assignment, on a short bond paper, I want you
to research all about the Wegener Thesis. I will leave
another reading assignment for all of you to read for
next meeting, you can get it to my office tomorrow after
lunch.
Is everything clear, Joven?
Yes, Sir
That’s all for today, Goodbye Class
