“WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 03, series of 2015 created
GOVERNMENT INDUSTRY ACADEME (GIA) COUNCIL to generate an avenue for collaborative efforts and constant dialogue among government, industry and academe, as recommended in the Bohol Tourism HRD Plan;
“WHEREAS, One of the challenges confronting contemporary education is
to ensure that students are provided with opportunities to make informed choices about future careers and to acquire the capacity to transition into these careers. Schools need to manage their curricula, teacher capacity, timetables, and diversity of student populations by offering pathways that are seen as engaging and meaningful to life beyond schooling.;
WHEREAS, there is a need to expand the composition of the council in
order to enlist support in the implementation, management and sustainability of the GIA programs;
NOW THEREFORE, premises considered, I, EDGAR M. CHATTO,
Governor of the Province of Bohol, by virtue of the powers vested in me under Sec. 465(b)(2)(iii)of the Local Government Code (RA 7160) and other existing laws, do hereby order the following :
SECTION 1. Amendments. In addition to the general functions of the GIA,
Section 4 of Executive Order No. 03, series of 2015 is hereby amended to include the following function:
g. Develop curricula and assessment procedures and teaching resources
including authentic learning environments; and the process of structuring and managing the above learning opportunities through embedded or stand alone curricula in order to help students transition from school to employment;
h. Develop and consolidate strategies for the effective implementation of
the policies that will provide more relevant direction in the education and training of students, and ensure the a smooth transition from education to employment without abridging the academic freedom as guaranteed by the Constitution.
Section 5 of the Executive Order is hereby amended to read as follows:
The Bohol Industry-Academe Council shall be composed of representatives from
the local industries, academe and pertinent government offices in the Province of Bohol, to wit:

Environmental Management System 1. OFFICES FROM THE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT OF BOHOL: a. BIPC; b. BEPO; c. SEEM; d. EDCenter
2. Representatives from the following national agencies:
a. Department of Education (DepEd); b. Commission on Higher Education (CHED); c. Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA); d. Department of Trade and Industry (DTI); e. Department of Labor and Employment f. Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI); and g.
Section 7 of the Executive Order is hereby amended to read as follows:
The _______________________ will act as the secretariat of the GIA
Council to provide technical and administrative service. Additional technical and administrative staff from members of the GIA Council may also be detailed or seconded to the Secretariat as necessary.
SECTION 2. Effectivity Clause. This Executive Order shall take effect
upon its approval.
