About the festival
Raindance Film Festival is the largest independent film
Raindan
festival in the UK, currently rated top 10 international film
festival for filmmakers, according to studiobinder. It is based
in the middle of London’s West End film district.

The film festival is officially recognised by the Academy of
Motion Picture Arts and Sciences USA, the British Academy
of Film and Television Arts and the British Independent
Film Awards. Selected shorts will qualify for Oscar and
BAFTA considerations.
The festival has been running for 28 years.

Rules and Regulations

your final project
 All written work must be your own and any sourced work must be Harvard
referenced properly
 The work must follow the brief created at the beginning of your final project
Idea outline
Idea outline:
My third idea is do a documentary on young people’s mental health as this is also another
issue people face today, I want to look into all the different types of mental health and
how people are affected by it. I would talk to a CAHMS mental health worker or
someone in that field, I would like to speak to individuals who have faced mental health
problems and how they overcome it to have dealt with it. This issue is not talked about
enough and that not right and I want to educate people to know how to people someone
struggling with mental health and what they might be feeling. But most importantly
they aren't alone!
Detailed Idea:
My idea is to produce a short documentary about 20 minutes long about mental health in
young people boys and girls. This is a huge issue and many people don’t know the depths
of it so I want to educate people not this issue, I want to include the different types of
mental health from anxiety to bipolar and depression and then what each one does to a
person. I also want to discuss how people deal with it, and the coping strategies there are.
I also want to include my own personal matter on this as I struggle with meant health and
I feel my input in the documentary will help however u don't know how to do this so I
will be developing this over time. I will be including interviews with a specialist on
young people’s mental health for example a CAHMS doctor or a school nurse I would
ask them questions on mental health copy strategies. I then want to include interviews
with different people boys and girls who struggles with mental health issues this will help
to get information from someone dealing with this, I will be asking them things such as
they mental Health condition, and if they have coping strategies as everyone has different
ways to cope from listening to music to physical activities. I also want to show how
lockdown has also made mental health as a whole a bigger issue I will show this trough
talking to people and getting statistics. The main point is to educate people and to make
sure they know that they aren't alone there is always people to talk to and I will be
including helplines at the end of the documentary.

My chosen target audience is 15- 25-year-olds, male and female.
I have chosen this age range as my target audience because I my aim

is to educate young people about mental health but also young
adults because they might have cousins or siblings who struggle with
mental health. This would give them an opportunity to speak to
them and help them with what they are going through, this will also
show that they are there to listen and support them. However, they
might also relate to it when they were younger and if they didn’t
understand some of why they were feeling like that they will be able
to understand now.
