From 24 December, Abu Dhabi will reopen to tourists – and we can’t wait to welcome you back! You’ll be exempt
from quarantine if you’re travelling from select countries. Always check in advance.
New global travel restrictions are currently impacting travel across India, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia
and the UK. Check guidelines below for more details.

From 24 December, Abu Dhabi will reopen to tourists without quarantine from select destinations. You’re able to
fly to Abu Dhabi if you are a UAE national or resident, or if you are eligible for a visa on arrival

If you’re travelling from any of the countries or regions listed below, or you’re taking part in the National
Vaccination Programme in the UAE, you’ll be exempt from quarantine requirements when you arrive:

You must take a COVD-19 PCR test on day 6 and day 12 of your arrival into Abu Dhabi. Read more

If you are travelling from any other country, you are required to quarantine for 10 days upon your arrival in Abu
Dhabi at home or at a hotel. If you are travelling from a country deemed high-risk by the UAE authorities, you
may be subject to quarantine in a government facility. You will be required to wear a medically approved
wristband for the duration of your quarantine – this will be provided by the authorities at Abu Dhabi Airport after
you clear immigration. You are exempt from having to wear the wristband if you:
You will undergo thermal screening and COVID-19 PCR testing when you land at Abu Dhabi airport. This applies to
all guests, excluding children under 12.
If you are exempt from quarantine, you must take a COVID-19 PCR test on day 6 and day 12 of your arrival into
Abu Dhabi. Children under 12 are exempt from testing unless they show symptoms of Coronavirus.
If you are required to quarantine, you must repeat a COVID-19 PCR test on day 8 of your arrival into Abu Dhabi.
Subject to a negative test result, your wristband will then be removed on day 10. Children under 12 are exempt
from testing unless they show symptoms of Coronavirus.
After landing in Abu Dhabi, you are only permitted to travel to another UAE emirate by Airport Taxi, Etihad
Chauffeur or Etihad Express Coach. If for any reason you are unable to travel this way, you will be required to
follow standard Abu Dhabi quarantine guidelines.
You will be asked to complete a form agreeing to self-isolate and do everything you can to limit the spread of
COVID-19 in the UAE. We recommend you complete this form in advance of your trip. Download now.
If you are a UAE resident, please visit uaeentry.ica.gov.ae to verify your UAE entry status.
It is mandatory to have a COVID-19 PCR test before you fly with Etihad Airways – you will only be permitted to fly if
you have a negative test result. Your test result should be issued in English, Arabic or in the language of your
departure country.
If you are travelling to the UAE from the UK, your test must be carried a maximum of 72 hours before your flight
departure time. Otherwise, your test must be carried out a maximum of 96 hours before your flight departure
time. Your test can be taken at any government accredited medical facility. Timings will differ if you are flying
from China and other select destinations. Guests departing Pakistan and India must use an Etihad approved
medical facility.
Children under 12 and people with severe and moderate disabilities are exempt from COVID-19 PCR testing.
Remember to print your test results and keep them with you throughout your trip – you will be required to

Nationals of the Republic of Korea traveling under the Fast Track programme and arriving at Abu Dhabi must
have a pre-approval to enter and an 'Isolation Exemption Certificate'.
Nationals of Indonesia traveling under the Safe Travel Corridor programme must have an entry permit and a
return ticket.
Depending on where you are flying to, your test must be carried out between 48, 72 or 96 hours ahead of your
flight departure time. Please make sure your test result is in the language mandated by the government of your
destination country.
If you're flying with Etihad Airways between 1 October 2020 and 31 March 2021, COVID-19 PCR testing is included
with your ticket. If you are flying to China, you will be required to arrange a COVID-19 PCR test at an approved
SEHA or G42 clinic.

Remember to print your test result as you will be required to present it for validation at check-in. You must
present a medical certificate or other relevant document, clearly stating the type of test and the result.
You may also present your test result via the Al Hosn app (https://www.alhosnapp.ae/en/home/) if you are
flying to Abu Dhabi.
If your test is positive or you are unable to present proof of your negative COVID-19 PCR test, you will not be
permitted to travel. You can rearrange your flight for free, or cancel and use the value of your flight towards your
