I. TITLE

THE BASIC LOGIC GATES

II. OBJECTIVE
The experiments in this laboratory exercise will provide an
introduction to digital electronic Circuits. You will learn how to use
the breadboarding system to build circuits using common logic
gates.

III. INTRODUCTION
All digital computers for the past 50 years have been constructed
using the same type of components. These components are called logic
gates. Logic gates have been implemented in many different ways.
Currently, logic gates are most commonly implemented using electronic
VLSI transistor logic. All basic logic gates have the ability to accept either
one or two input signals (depending upon the type of gate) and generate
one output signal. Individual logic gates can be connected or cascaded
together to form a logic gate function with any desired number of inputs, or
to form combinational and sequential type circuits, or to produce different
logic gate functions from standard gates.

VIII. CONCLUSION

AFTER CONDUCTING THE EXPERIMENT, WE NOW UNDERSTOOD HOW


TO PROPERLY SET THE MATERIALS IN THE BREADBOARD. WE ARE
ALSO ABLE TO FULLY UNDERSTOOD HOW THE LOGIC GATES WORK,
HOW TO DIFFERENTIATE EACH GAGTES AND ENSURING THAT THE DATA
GATHERED HAS THE SAME RESULT AS THE TRUTH TABLE.
IX. RECOMMENDATIONS

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT BEFORE CONDUCTING THE EXPERIMENT,


THE STUDENT MUST KNOW FIRST HOW THE LOGIC GATES WORKS, AND
TO FOLLOW THE STEPS AND PROCEDURES PROPERLY AS IT WILL
AFFECT THE WHOLE EXPERIMENT.
