Math 7 adding and Subtracting Integers Review – Screencastify

1) Sign in to Google Chrome – ID#@sd67.bc.ca

2) Go to Google app store and download Screencastify
3) Use the stylists button and click on “Create a Note”
4) When starting to record use Desktop recording.

It is your turn to be the teacher, " create your own Math Antics lesson for the rest of the class to watch.
 
Task
In small groups (3-4) you are going to use an app in Google Chrome "Screencastify" to record
your math lesson being sure to include the following for grade 7 class that has not started this
topic. (Start with basics, assume they have no prior background knowledge of topic.)
 
a. Introduce the Topic
b. Provide notes or background information or definitions (eg. Number line, integer,
tiles)
c. Include at least 2 examples with varying difficulty. (Novice/ Expert)
i. That you work through step by step (colorful)
ii. Explain the procedure (remember this if for student that have never done
before)
b. Teaching Points - Hints (I sometimes call these thought bubbles)
c. Checks along the way so you know you are on the right track.
 
Bonus - Make it fun and engaging  
 Reminders
 
1. Every group member must be included in the screencastify, (drawing and talking). If you
need to might have to have a 3rd or 4th example. *Help each other out.
2. Before recording you should do a practice write up of your lesson on paper and on the
tablet. Prepare what you will be saying during your portion of the lesson. This is an
absolute must.
3. Share the video with all group members and Mr. Riep
