Activity 1. Identify activities happen in the past and at present

Based on the dialogues on page 142-144 “When English Rings a Bell”, please complete the
following table (activities in the past and at present/now) as the examples(Dayu, Siti and Rani)!

Students In the Past Now

Dayu - She was a baby. - Sehe is an SMP student(teenager).
- She was 3.4 kg. - She is 50 kg.
- She was 52 cm. - She is 250 cm tall.
- She was bald.
- She had no hair. - She has long hair.

Siti and Rani - They were not close friends. - They are close friends.
- They did not study together. - They study together.
- They never played together. - They playe together.
- They cry together.

Udin and Beni - Beni collected toys car when he - He does’nt collect cars
was in elementary school

Edo and Dayu - Playing Marbles was was Edo

favorite game in primary school
- He Played marbles every day - He never play marbles anymore
- Dayu Played marbles same like
Edo, but she did’nt do it very well

Udin and Edo - Udin did’nt like math because - Math is his favourite subject because
the teacher did’nt explain it clearly his Teacher explains it clearly

Siti and Lina - Siti did’nt have breakfast before - Now, siti going to eat her breakfast

Activity 2. My Reflection of my learning today

After learning the English, Now I can write the resume of my learning today as follows.

1. I know that I’m leaninr to construct past tense sentences and study their structural
structure
2. I know that a verb has ___3_____ different forms;
a. The past form has –ed in the end of the word, for example:
Studied, attended, collected, carried, liked
b. Some past verbs have different vowels/sounds from those in the present forms, for
example:
Read, hurt, ate, fell
c. Some past verbs have totally different forms from the present forms, for example:
Went, grew, lost, gave, flew

3. I know that
a. We use the past form for to explain about our activities in the past
b. We use the present form for to explain about our current activities
