Thank you!

Write briefly (Approx 200 Words)

1. What do you understand by the term lifelong learners? Why do you think teachers
should be lifelong learners?
Lifelong learners according to me are people who use every available opportunity to learn
and enhance themselves. They may learn from peers, surroundings, subordinates (in some
cases) and in the case of teachers even from students. Teachers, I feel, should be lifelong
learners because the current generation of students have a very great thirst for knowledge
and knowing about things, in general. To quench this thirst and help the students learn and
know about the world, teachers should continuously keep track on the developments in
various sectors, to answer their students’ questions. They may sometimes not know the
answer, which is normal, as everyone cannot know everything, but should be willing to learn
and give the answers later instead of discouraging the child. When their student points out
any error committed, the teacher should be willing to correct their mistake, learn from it,
and not justify their wrong. Hence, teachers should be lifelong learners to make their
teaching experience and their students’ learning experience memorable and smooth sailing.

2. What is the one specific skill you wish to learn during the course of this diploma? Why is it important
for you? (100 words)

A specific skill I would like to learn would be conflict resolution. I feel this is important, as
conflicts arise on a regular basis and among kids and adolescents conflicts more frequently.
To resolve conflicts we need to be confident, a good listener, have patience and be good at
communication. So I feel conflict resolution is a skill that needs to be learnt and it will help
solve the students’ problems and maintain peace in class.
