Universal Design for Learning (UDL): As students are recommended to be physically active every day for at
least 60 minutes. I will pick a UDL (EDpuzzle) that will give them Ideas of how to be physically active outside
of school.
Lesson idea implementation:
The teacher will instruct the students of how to stay active outside of school. They will be instructed to
visit EDpuzzle, as they use their tablet or computer on EDpuzzle, they will now browse videos (suggested)
of how to stay active at home. The students will have the whole class period to go over videos that are best
related to their skills or home life. Assessment’s will take place as I walk around making sure everyone is
engaged and working with the video they have chosen. I will also be sharing my ideas of how they can
adapt best to the videos they have chosen and showing them proper ways of executing certain techniques

in their videos. As EDpuzzle contains a capability of inserting questions through videos, that’s another
source of assessment I will be looking at.
Next, I would ask for volunteers to give examples of videos they saw and how they plan on being active.
In doing this I hope variations of examples are brought forward so that everyone is aware of how different
everyone can be. Conclusion will consist of writing down every student’s choice of physical activity and
sharing what I expect to see next time I see them. This will include a chart of what they did, how long, and
if possible, taking a picture of themselves doing the activity. When we meet up next, I will examine what
they did and provide congruent feedback.
Reflective Practice: As I chose this activity, I considered that my students would be engaged because of the
technology that was relevant. I also trusted my students to do this lesson at home on their own. Showing
trust in your students allows them to really connect with you and be more engaged. As physical activity
was my content area, they had the opportunity to choose what they wanted to do, of which once again is
key for getting all your students involved. In the future I would like to extend this lesson to one week or
two instead of one day. Using all the same tools we had but extending the days and choosing more than
one activity to be physically active in, would be the biggest changes I make.
