Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Universal Design for Learning will be used in this lesson by allowing
students to be engaged by using interactive tools. As I will present a Nearpod to my students, I then will
assign a project for them to create their own Nearpod.

Lesson idea implementation: As I just mentioned I will first introduce Nearpod to my students allowing
them to interact with it. The nearpod I have created is related to healthy eating and will take up most of
our class time. Once presentation is completed I will inform students that they will be creating a nearpod
that relates to Healthy Eating. As this topic has a variety of information, my nearpod will list certain topics
that need to be addressed. The final 15-20 minutes of class time students will be allowed to mess around
with nearpod and look for research related to the topic. Students’ assessment for the day will take place as
a ticket out the door. Students will need to write down 3 tools and or activities they will be using or are
interested in. The next time we meet up the students will have the majority of class time to work on their
nearpod. On our third meeting students will be presenting their nearpod to the class. Final assessment and
feedback I will give is related to their nearpod and how interactive it was for them and classmates.
Reflective Practice: Students will be impacted greatly as they use a tool like nearpod since it is very
interactive and keeps students engaged. Every student is different and using a tool like nearpod will allow
them to express their views. To further extend this lesson I could have listed a variety of topics that relates
to health. With this it allows for student’s choice and once again allows them to express their creativity. As
nearpod is my choice I would also introduce other tools they can use instead, for instance Peardeck is
another great interactive tool.
