ABSTRACT
The main purpose of the researcher is to find out the Value of Social Interaction to the
Development of Good Work Ethics as perceived by the Grade 7 student of Malusak National
High School.

Specifically the researcher would like to answer the following questions:

1. What is the Value of Social Interaction to the Development of Good Work Ethics as
perceived by the Grade 7 student of Malusak National High School in terms of:

1.1 Striving for Excellence


1.2 Cultivating Personal Growth
1.3 Academic Integrity
1.4 Respect for Others
1.5 Competence in Moral Reasoning

2. In what aspect does Social Interaction have the most effect on the Development of
Goodwork Ethics of the respondents?

3. In what aspect does Social Interaction have the least effect on the Development of
Goodwork Ethics of the respondents?

The researcher utilized the descriptive type of research. It is delimited to the Value of
Social Interaction to the Development of GoodWork Ethics as perceived by the Grade 7 student
of Malusak National Highschool, Atimonan, Quezon, 2017-2018. The researcher used purposive
sampling because the respondents of this study were comprised of sixty three (80) students, 30
girls and 50 boys. The Value of Social Interaction to the Development of GoodWork Ethics of the
student is gathered through the utilization of the structured questionnaire which was divided into
five different parts. Striving for Excellence, Cultivating Personal Growth, Academic Integrity,
Respect for Others, Competence in Moral Reasoning

The descriptive method is the most appropriate method to use in this study, because
descriptive method of research is a fact-finding study with adequate and accurate interpretation of
the findings. It describes with emphasis what actually exist such as current conditions, situations,
practices, or any phenomena.

FINDINGS

1. Based from the study, the researcher arrived at the following findings,

1.1 The respondents showed that the Value of Social Interaction to the Development of
GoodWork Ethics in terms of Striving for Excellence reached the average weighted
mean of 4.07 that falls under Descriptive Analysis of “AGREE”. This means that the
respondents want to learned to become more creative to discover a new way to make
their work more worthwhile everytime they got a project. Social Interaction
improved their academic performances and attitudes toward school everytime they
interact with others. On the other hand the respondents “STRONGLY AGREE” that

they learned to persevere to continue their task through their hardship to impress their
parents.

1.2 The respondents showed that the Value of Social Interaction to the Development of
GoodWork Ethics in terms of Cultivating Personal Growth reached the average
weighted mean of 3.98 that falls under Descriptive Analysis of “AGREE”. This
connotes that the respondents want to learn the right manner to initiate conversation
to complete their group project. In Social Interaction they become more responsible
about they work everytime they interact with others. On the other hand, the
respondents “STRONGLY AGREE” that they become goal oriented and dedicated
in achieving the success they envision for their self.

1.3 The respondents showed that the Value of Social Interaction to the Development of
GoodWork Ethics in terms of Academic Integrity reached the average weighted mean
of 4.04 that falls under Descriptive Analysis of “AGREE”. This implies that the
respondents learned to give their self enough time to research and write my own
papers and to review everytime they have exam. Social Interaction taught them to be
honest and not to cheat everytime they have an exam. On the other hand, the
respondents “STRONGLY AGREE” that they learned to do their work by their own
even their friends offer to help and to give credits to all the resources they used in
their project .

1.4 The respondents showed that the Value of Social Interaction to the Development of
GoodWork Ethics in terms of Respect for others reached the average weighted mean
of 4.10 that falls under Descriptive Analysis of “AGREE”. This conveys that the
respondents realized the glimpse of peoples different behavior that gives them
positive outlook toward work. Social Interaction taught them to be more kind hearted
person if their friends need a help. On the other hand, the respondents “STRONGLY
AGREE” that they learned to be more considerate of others personal situation and to
respect the suggestion of others when it comes to group project

1.5 The respondents showed that the Value of Social Interaction to the Development of
GoodWork Ethics in terms of Competence in Moral Reasoning reached the average
weighted mean of 4.23 that falls under Descriptive Analysis of “STRONGLY
AGREE”. This means that the respondents learned to contribute and give useful idea
for the sake of their school performance. Social Interaction taught them to become
more honest to tell to their teacher that some of their classmate are doing unethical
act that can cause problem to others. On the other hand, the respondents “AGREED”
that they learned to obey the rules and regulation of the school to become responsible
student.
2. Among the Value of Social Interaction to the Development of GoodWork Ethics as
perceived by the Grade 7 student of Malusak National Highschool, Competence in Moral
Reasoning emerges as the one that is perceived to affect the most the development of
GoodWork Ethics of the respondents, with a Weighted Mean of 4.23 and with an
equivalent analytical descriptive of “STRONGLY AGREE”. This means that the
respondents learned to contribute and give useful idea for the sake of their school
performance. Social Interaction taught them to become more honest to tell to their teacher
that some of their classmate are doing unethical act that can cause problem to others.
3. Among the the Value of Social Interaction to the Development of GoodWork Ethics as
perceived by the Grade 7 student of Malusak National High School, Cultivating Personal
Growth emerges as the one that is perceived to affect the least the development of
GoodWork Ethics of the respondents, with a Weighted Mean 3.98 with an equivalent
analytical descriptive of “AGREE”. This connotes that the respondents want to learn the
right manner to initiate conversation to complete their group project. In Social Interaction
they become more responsible about they work everytime they interact with others.

CONCLUSIONS:

In the light of the findings, the following can be concluded:


1. The Value of Social Interaction is perceived to affect the development of goodwork ethics of
the Grade 7 student of Malusak National high School in terms of Striving for Excellence,
Cultivating Personal Growth, Academic Integrity, Respect for Others, and Competence in Moral
Reasoning.

1.1 Striving for Excellence

The researcher arrived at the conclusion that social interaction have positive
effects on the respondent’s academic performance. It helps them to acquire new skills and
techniques that they can apply in their daily activities. She also added that interacting
with others allows students to gain inspiration and insight from other minds in order to
master new concepts in a fun and creative way.
1.2 Cultivating Personal Growth
The researcher concluded that the respondents are become goal oriented and
dedicated in achieving the success they envision. She also concluded that interacting with
others help them to understand and develop oneself in order to achieve one’s fullest
potential.
1.3 Academic Integrity
The researcher arrived at the conclusion that social interaction help the
respondents to become honest and responsible for their academic work for them to don’t
do unethical act. She concluded that interacting to others help them to do the work by
their own and all the grades that they get should result from their own understanding and
effort.
1.4 Respect for Others

The researcher concluded that the respondents who are engaged in social
interaction have better relationship with others. It helped them to become more
considerate to other peoples feeling, which leads to a good attitude and a better discipline.
1.5 Competence in Moral Reasoning

The researcher arrived at the conclusion that social interaction helps the
respondents to determine what is right or wrong. She analyzed that most of the
respondents who were engaged in social interaction have better qualities of a good
student. In addition, through interacting the respondents became respectful and helpful.
2. After the researcher have gathered all the necessary data about his study, Social
interaction have the most perceived effect in Competence in Moral Reasoning. The
findings reflect that through social interaction the respondent are inspired to do ethical act
to others. Acting in ways consistent with what society and individuals typically think are

good values. They are those who recognize the difference between right and wrong and
consistently strive to set an example of good conduct.
3. After the researcher have gathered all the necessary data about his study, Social
interaction have the most perceived effect in Cultivating Personal Growth. Thus the
findings revealed that Social Interaction help them to become more responsible about
they work everytime they interact with others.

RECOMMENDATIONS

In the light of the findings yielded by this study, the following recommendations are given:

To the School Administrators

 Support all the event in the school to enhance the social skills of the student.

 Utilizing collaborative groups will allow students to practice and observe appropriate
social interactions with peer

 Align an activities like team building to enhance the collaborative skill of the student
To the Teachers

 Facilitate discussions among teachers as a group – starting with student teachers – about
the decisions they can make to drive social change.

 Make classroom processes democratic to establish the idea that if we actively participate
in our communities, we can help make decisions about how they function.

 Prepare students to expect the need for change and to believe in their own ability to take
positive steps for the benefit of society.

 Encourage active participation and experimentation with ideas among students.

To the Parents

 Parents need to encourage their child to get involved with clubs and activities to have
more opportunities to socialize with their peers.

 Parents might request that their child and the other student participate in the peer
mediation program, if available.
 Let the child know that it is okay if they not liked by everyone all the time, and that what
is more important is that they has a few quality friends.

To the Grade 7 students


 Join scouting to try new things that may help you enhance your skills and knowledge that
may help you grow as an individual.
 Cooperate and contribute an information to the group everytime they have a group
project.
 Practice as much as possible if you want to be successful. Interaction through pair and
group work maximizes the opportunities to practice as more learners speak for more of
the time.

 Participate in all activity given by the teacher to enhance your social skills

To the Future Researchers


 Make use of this study as a material reference in studying about the Value of Social
Interaction in the Development if Gooed Work Ethics.
 May refer to this study in further investigation on the Value of Social Interaction in the
Development if Good Work Ethics.
 Conduct future researches that will strengthen the Value of Social Interaction in the
Development if Gooed Work Ethics, which will surely contribute to our bulk of literature
and body knowledge that it will be useful or beneficial.
