LAC SESSION
JANUARY 2021
I. INTRODUCTION
A. RATIONALE
In line with the implementation of RA 10533, or the Enhanced Basic Education issued
the policy on The Learning Action Cell (LAC) as a K to 12 Basic Education Program School-
Based Continuing Professional Development Strategy for the Improvement of Teaching and
Learning.
This session introduces the guidelines for the alternative classroom observations for RPMS
that is considered only for SY 2020-2021 due to the absence of or limited capacity for face-
to-face learning.

Narrative Report
A virtual Department Learning Action Cell (DLAC) session in MAPEH was
conducted on January 22, 2021, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the MAPEH Center, San Jose City
National High School. All participants joined the virtual meeting through Google meet
platform. Everyone was addressed by the emcee, Marietta B. Farinas, Master Teacher I. She
started the session with an opening prayer led by Jerwin D. Pranilla, Teacher I and introduced
our beloved Head teacher, Ma’am Bernadette B. Bersamin for her opening remark.
I, Gloria C. Tolentino, DLAC resource speaker of January, welcomed my co-teachers
and our head teacher for the beginning of our LAC session. My topic was about “General
Guidelines for the RPMS Alternative Classroom Observation that discussed the three
Alternative Classroom observation which appropriated to the Global pandemic situation or
the so –called classroom in the new normal. Each observation platform depended on the
teaching modality of each teacher to be observed by assigned Rater/observer according to the
position of the Ratee/teacher.
After the presentation of the slides, the emcee initiated a question and answer portion
to clarify and justify some thoughts of the participants. Then individual activity was given to
the participants and shared to the virtual meeting.
Last part of the session was used for important reminders about the class observation
through the selected alternative classroom observation. Schedules of classroom observation
by LDM were discussed and set. Closing remark was done by our Head Teacher VI,
Bernadette B. Bersamin.
