ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
LAC SESSION
JANUARY 2021

I. INTRODUCTION

A. RATIONALE

In line with the implementation of RA 10533, or the Enhanced Basic Education issued
the policy on The Learning Action Cell (LAC) as a K to 12 Basic Education Program School-
Based Continuing Professional Development Strategy for the Improvement of Teaching and
Learning.
This session introduces the guidelines for the alternative classroom observations for RPMS
that is considered only for SY 2020-2021 due to the absence of or limited capacity for face-
to-face learning.

B. Overview

Alternative classroom observation under the new normal is obviously different

because learners are in distant learning. No classes and teachers work from home. Classroom
setting should be prepared according to the learning modality of the learners and the teaching
materials should be based on the SLM and MELCs. Teachers must be empowered to cope
with these changes. This LAC plan focuses on guiding teachers in selecting platform for
classroom observation that suits to their position and category as online/printed modality
teachers. There are three alternative classroom observations. The first one is online
observation, next is Video lesson observation and demonstration teaching via LAC meeting.

II. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the session, the participants are expected to:

1. understand the guidelines in selecting and preparing alternative classroom
observation;

2. consider the tools/forms needed in the classroom observation;

3. provide the date, time and platform for the chosen alternative classroom observation;
