KESZ’ STORY
 Kesz was born to a poor family.
 When he was only 2 years old, his father forced
him to work, to get things from garbage or
anything that can be sold.
 The money will be used by his father to buy some
drugs and alcohol.
 When Kesz was 4 years old, he ran away from his
family and started to live in the streets and sleep
in the public cemetery with other street children.
 At the age of 7, something happened to him. He
was scavenging with his friend when he fell on a
pile of burning tires causing him a severe injury.
 His arm was burned. He was brought to the
community day care where he met Harnin
Manalaysay.
 He treated Kesz wounds and later adopted him
under his care.
 Harnin used the example of the life story of Kesz
to campaign and bring awareness to many
Filipinos about children’s rights.
 Because of this, Kesz was able to help more than
10,000 children in his community through his
Caring Children Organization.
 Kesz’s story won in the International Children’s
Peace Prize at the Netherlands.
