BRIDGE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

AIM

Those students successfully completing this course should be capable of


undertaking all
of the responsibilities expected of a deck officer at an operational level for
a bridge watch.
They will be familiar with all the standard functional objectives required
of watchkeeping
officers as well as the procedures required the safely operate a vessel in
any condition using
effective bridge team management
OBJECTIVES

 Students should be able to demonstrate how to prepare vessel for


departure/arrival
 Students should be able to recognize the duties of the OOW when
keeping a navigational watch
 Students should be able to utilize and be able to apply the Passage
Planning
 Students should be able to judge and utilize the COLREG
 Students should be able to demonstrate how to support the master by
monitoring the progress of the vessel along the pre-planned track
