ACTIVITY TITLE: TYPES OF SPEECH CONTEXTS AND SPEECH STYLES

LEARNING TARGET: To illustrate the different types of speech context and speech styles in different
scenarios.

CONCEPT NOTES: Several types of speech contexts may be used in different occasions or situation to know
the purpose and to achieve the desired goals in communication which is based on the varying numbers of
participants, medium or channel, environment and social context. On the other hand, choosing what style to
use is usually influenced by the intended effect, the relationship with the participant, and the purpose of the
communication.
