Topic: Today, more and more people are using mobile phone and computer.

Thus, the
communication ability is losing. To what extend do you agree or disagree?

Answer:
Nowadays, it’s argued that people could lose their communication ability by the use of high-
tech devices such as mobile phones and computers. From my perspective, I partly agree
with this view.
On the one hand, it is obvious that there are several significant benefits of using mobile
phones and computers in communication. One main benefit is that they provide people a
wide range of applications which allows us to keep in touch with our long-distance friends
and relatives. Owning the Internet, these applications create a digital world, and connect
you with everyone all over the world by text-messaging, voice calling and video
conferencing. We, for instance, easily contact with others, regardless of geographical
distance, by simply signing social networking sites like Facebook or WhatsApp in our smart
phones and computers. It is predicted that the virtual world on our technological devices
will develop further in foreseeable future, encouraging people to contact more frequently.
Cutting-edge gadgets, on the other hand, affect adversely on human communication. First
and foremost, people are increasingly being addicted to smart phones and computers,
resulting in the downfall of communication. One example of this is children who tend to
spend a great deal of time for browsing the websites on mobile phone or surfing the
Internet on computer instead of talking with their parents or siblings. This leads them to be
isolated from not only their own family but also the whole society but confided to the
technological gadgets. On this account, it is popular to witness mealtimes when all family
used to get together are becoming a thing of the past while time for mobiles and computers
is taking over.
On the whole, even though I believe that the high-tech devices such as smart phones and
computers play indispensable role in enhancing communication for our society, I also agree
that they have serious impacts on face-to-face interaction among humans.
