PROCEDURE:

I. Daily Routine
 Prayer
 Greetings
 Classroom Management
 Checking of Attendance
 Reminders
 Review of the previous lesson

 Motivation
Show the slide of a quotation “An ounce of prevention in better than a pound of
cure”
What can you say about the quotation?
How can this quotation be applicable at home?

II. Lesson proper

Introduction
A. Introduce to the learners that the house, just like a person, need to be cared
for. Immediate repair should be done if there are defects seen so that its
condition will not worsen.

B. Let the learners perform the following activities

Activity 1: “Read the discussion”

Discuss the lesson on Doing Home Repairs and improvements on their


powerpoint presentation.

Ask these questions:

1. Why is planning important in-home repairs and improvement?


2. how can a list of home improvement activities help in saving time, money, and
energy.

Activity 2: “Classify!”

Ask the students to classify if a repair work is inside the house or outside the
house. Write I for inside the house and write O for outside the house.

1. Creaky gate (O)


2. destroyed doorknob (I)
3. Broken leg of a chair or table (I)
4. leaking faucet in the laundry area (O)
5. removing stains from the fabric upholstery (I)

Show a video presentation about simple home repair such as repairing a broken leg
of chair or table, repainting a gate. Encourage the students to help in doing simple
repairs at home like repainting gate smoothing the surface of the wood using
sandpaper but with the supervision of their parents or an adult.

Ask:
 Ask the student to share in class example of home repair activities that can be
planned and scheduled
 What can you say about the video presentation you’ve watch do you have
experiences in doing home repair? Share your experiences to the class.

III. Assessment

A. Round up
One-minute paper. What have you learned in our lesson?

B. Application
Using the acrostics strategy. Let the students associate words or phrases in
each letter of the word “HOME”. Tell them to relate their answers based on
their learning about the lesson.
