What kind of a person do I want to be?

I want to be the type of person that's good at listening. Far more than I speak, I want to
listen. I want to be that person who helps to create a healthy world in which to live. Instead of
breaking down, I will lift up. I'll try to remember that when people give hate and meanness, I get
to choose how to respond to it. I want to be autonomous, courageous, if I have to, to take on the
world alone and make independent choices without constant approval. I just hope to encourage
individuals to believe in their own skills. I want to inspire them more than that, however, to
really do something about it rather than going it to waste. When I completely kill assignments, I
feel my best. I'm addicted to ticking off a list to do and getting stuff done as soon as possible.
However, sometimes I let the rest of life get the best of me, and I feel bad if I'm procrastinating
or working slowly. I never want the standard to be that. I would be the kind of person that
believes in dialogue and that we will create a stronger, safer, and healthier world when we lay
down our arms and come together. When I understand that I now know better, I will analyze my
convictions and the feelings I have and change direction. In certain places, I will keep tight, but I
will do my best even then to note that I only see in part. I want to be the kind of person who
wants to believe in better people in a world that can feel frightening and harsh. Who does not
give up, and who continues to struggle, who is not too busy to raise others up. I sometimes feel
poor or scared and like I have nothing to give, but anyway, I want to be the kind of person who
shows up because the mere presence means a lot.

Which habits and character traits are likely to be part of a meaningful and happy life?

Gratitude. For happiness, gratitude is important. In order to be happy with it, you have to fully
appreciate what you have in life. If you do not feel thankful, no matter how much you already
have, you will always be hungry for more.

Intangible Values. Happy individuals are not concerned with monetary incentives or goals. They
don't care about getting to a certain place, making a certain amount of money, or having certain
items that are material. The intangible sections of life are more concerned with them: friendship,
fun, and family. They emphasize their actual feelings of happiness over what they consider to be
related to happiness.

Optimism. It is one of the most important attributes needed to see your way through the most
daunting challenges of life. However, it's more than just overcoming obstacles, it's also vital to
achieve success, as you're going to encounter challenges along the way that try to thwart you and
you're going to need to have the courage to remain optimistic through them.

Focus on the present. People who are happy prefer to live in the moment. They're not worried
with stuff they've done in the past, and they don't worry about the future all the time. It is
important to consider the past, but living in it is harmful, just as it is important to prepare for the
future, but obsessing about it is harmful. Focus right now on being satisfied.
Drive and Passion. For both happiness and performance, passion is important. In reality, by
being the subject of your professional success, it can strike two birds with one stone, making a
living doing what you enjoy. Nevertheless, you need to pursue your passion, as that will give a
sense of purpose to your life, and without it, I would say that you would never really grasp any
measure of success.

Identify the likely character traits of someone that you admire. Are those traits best
described as virtues or vices?

Merida from the disney movie Brave.

- Brave. The word brave lives up to her. She showed how brave she was by fighting off
and facing her fears and the consequences of her actions. It is a virtue. But, at some point,
due to her braveness, she became rash when making decisions that put her family in
danger and that is one of the vices of becoming brave.

- Self- Expression. She is not shy to show her true self and follow her own path. It is a
virtue. But at some point, her self-expression comes out to be a product of boastfulness
by neglecting her parents’ opinions and that is a vice.

- Wittiness - She is indeed a clever girl. She expressed illuminating and amusing insights
about things. It is a virtue but sometimes when she’s fighting for what she believes in, she
becomes a person full of boorishness due to insensitivity of others’ feelings which is
considered as a vice.
