Project Abstract
This system aims to make the process of auction efficient for sellers and buyers who want to
trade from all over Pakistan. It consists of a web-portal and mobile application providing all
the facilities to its registered users for online-auction. Registered users will send the details to
the admin using the user console if he/she wants to propose a new auction. Admin will
approve or decline the request, and after that, the auction will start, and the notification will
be sent to all the users. The item will be allocated to the highest bidder of that product, and
the escrow method will be used for the payment procedure between the buyer and seller to
avoid the risks of fraud from both sides.

Introduction
E-AucCentre is an online auction system where sellers and buyers from all over Pakistan can
come and trade almost everything. This system consists of a web-portal where all the
auctions will be held, but only registered users can propose new auctions and can bid to buy
an item. Users will be notified via emails when a new offer is made regarding the proposed
auction or when the time for bidding is over. To verify the user details, a pre-registration will
be taken place to check whether the user has provided the real email address or not; they will
receive an email with an auto-generated secret code. In the second moment, they would be
asked to type the code in order to validate the data (name, address, telephone, etc.). The user
will get access to the portal after data confirmation.

Items on the auction will have a name, description, and pictures related to the item. Every
auction will have a start and end time, and no one will be allowed to bid before the start and
after the end of the given time. Time for bidding will be increased only if no one bids in the
given interval. When a user proposes a new auction, the request and the detail of the item will
be sent to the administrators, and they can approve, modify and delete the categories of the
auction. The payment method that we will utilize in this system will be the escrow method to
give equal pay protection to both buyer and seller.

Admin can generate a weekly or monthly report of all the auctions that happened in that time.
The report will be made on the basis of bids from each city, highest bids, and profit. To
increase the ways of accessing our auction system, we will develop a mobile application as
well so that the users can access his portal easily on their cell phones.

Motivation and Scope

The motivation and scope that lie behind the idea of this project are to ease the methods of
buying and selling for the users. It will also help them avoid the conventional and time taking
forms of auction. The current practices and systems of the auction that are available have a
lot of security problems due to which users can’t trust them and have to adopt the old
methods of traveling from one place to another for buying or selling items. Some of them
have no verification or validation methods due to which any user can post their ad without
any authenticity of their items.

Our primary motivation and scope are to improve the current systems of the auction by
enhancing the security of the system so that the users can completely trust the system while
selling or buying the items. We will implement the correct methods of verification and

validation through which no user can buy or sell anything unless their account is properly
verified by the administration. These techniques and procedures will help the user to save
their time and resources and let them sell their products by sitting anywhere in Pakistan.

Related Work
In this section, we will explain the projects that have been developed for online auction along
with their faults in performance, feature, and security.

Our Hatti:

This website only consists of demo data and is just a prototype with no validation and
verification methods. Anyone can come and post any item for sale without any account and
user verification. The interface is not developed correctly, due to which they're a lot of
options missing on the website.

ebid:

The problem that is present in this website is that anyone can create an account without
submitting their details of the official documents, which is necessary for verifying the identity
of the user. The same problem is present for posting ads that any user can post whatever they
want without providing any official documents of their products to the admin for verification.

Goals and Objectives

We live in a world where time is considered money, and resource wastage is also considered
a big deal. Hence, people prefer to do everything by sitting in one place utilizing the world's
latest technologies. Time is viewed as a luxury in this modern era. In this section, we will
discuss the goals and objectives of our auction system.

Goals
 No Physical Appearance Required: By using our system, buyers and sellers can avoid
the conventional approach of bidding where buyers have to sit and bid for a long time.
 Convenience: The main goal of our system is to allow the users to bid anywhere from
Pakistan and to sell their items without wasting their time.
 Instant Updates: The sole purpose of the online auction is to save time and cost for one
person traveling from one place to another. In this system, the user is only required to
login into his portal and bid on any item according to his need.

 In-depth Information: The detailed information of every item will be present on the
portal, like its condition, specifications which will eventually help the buyer to bid
according to it without any confusion
 Accessibility: To increase the accessibility of our system, we have planned to develop a
mobile application for this system so that the users can easily access his portal for
purchasing and selling items.
Objectives
 Authenticity: The system provides a secure registration process in which users have to
provide a valid CNIC number, phone number, and they will be required to enter a security
code, which will be sent to their email. After that, the admin will verify his profile.
 Product Verification: For selling an item on the portal, the user has to upload all its
valid documents, which will be sent to the admin for verification, and then the product
will be live for bidding. 
 Report Generation: When the auction of any specific items ends, the admin will be able
to generate the report of that auction according to his requirement.
 Buyer and Seller Protection: When a buyer wins an auction, he will have to pay a specific or
full amount for that product so that the item will be allocated to him and the seller have to ship the
item to the buyer. The payment will be kept in escrow, which will be transferred to the seller after
the successful delivery of the product.
