Making more accessible for grade level

Grade 4:
- Asking people on earth to protect common home: earth
- Comments on home has never been more hurt or mistreated- using too many resources
- Those that suffer most are poor community
- Despite what we know we are not changing
- We cannot continue like this, if we work together we can make a new start
- Love for world and neighbour first to live in harmony
- Simple, everyday actions: recycling, turning lights off, living more simply
- Fits in to grade 4 science and technology curriculum for habitats and humanity

Earth day: April 22nd

Grade 6
- From abstract to concrete
- Calculating carbon footprint: can see their impact on environment
o Connect to carbon dioxide fumes in environment readings
- Action project as class or school: one idea and implement
o Biodiversity garden- plant native plants that attract butterflies and pollinators
o Compost for school using worms, produce soil
- Section that talks about biodiversity

Connection to the border: cannot bring plants, fruits and vegetables across
- You do not know what you are bringing with it that will kill habitats/animals here in
Canada
- Teaching them that everything they do has an effect
