Let the learners watch a short video clip about segregation of garbage. Let them
read and sing the song.

The most important thing to do, segregate! segregate!

I. Everything plastic, bottles made of glass,


Paper, cardboard packaging, segregate the trash.
II. veggie peel, and eggshells, fruit skins and seeds.
Trash from the kitchen, segregate indeed!
III. What to do with certain things, you need to know,
Like batteries and toxic waste, there’s a place they go.
IV. Dry leaves, flowers, twigs and weeds,
Rusty scissors, old torn shoes, those newspapers,
books and magazines, don’t mix them with other refuse.

1. What are the different wastes that are found in the song?
2. What will you do before you leave the garbage?
3. How are we going to segregate garbage?
*one way of practicing proper waste management is to segregate the garbage or
trash.
D. Discussing new Proper waste management should be practiced at home, in school, in the
concepts and community and in all other places. In this activity let’s try to segregate the
practicing new skills garbage from the song by using a graphic organizer.
