Lesson Plan in Science 7

(3rd Quarter)
A. Content Standard
The learners demonstrate understanding of the characteristics of light: intensity or
brightness and color.
B. Performance Standard
The learners appreciate proper lighting in doing various activities.

C. Learning Competencies/Objectives

The learner relates characteristics of light such as color and intensity to frequency and
wavelength.

Code: S7MT-Ii-6

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the learners can:

 Identify the common sources of light;

 Determine how do these common sources produce light; and
 Classify the common properties and characteristics of light?

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Characteristics of light
Reference: Science Learner's Module 7
CG Science 7

III. Procedure
A. Activity:
The teacher will ask all the students to close their eyes for a minute. The
teacher will give follow up questions regarding what the students observed.
B. Analysis
1. What are the sources of light you already know?
2. What are the possible consequences if there is an absence of light around
us?

C. Abstraction
a. LIGHT is an electromagnetic radiation of any wavelength that travels in a
vacuum with a speed of 299,792,458 meters (about 186, 000 miles) per
second specifically: such radiation that is visible to the human eye.

D. Application
a. The students will classify the different sources of light.
b. They will going to figure out the different electromagnetic waves that the
sun produces.

I. Evaluation
The teacher will give a sit work about the different uses of light in our daily
lives.

II. Assignment
