APPROACH

A group meeting with Mr. Piyush Goyal led us to believe that there is a
gap regarding the knowledge of Home and Kitchen Composting in the
minds of people. While there are many organizations that provide
ready-made composts, still the people are not fully aware of the
process and its benefits. The discussion led us to realise that there is a
lack of awareness among people about the importance of composting
and also there is a lack of awareness regarding the facilities available in
the market for the same.
In this attempt of ours, we have created a plan that would help educate
the people about the process and also its benefits. This would in turn
help save the environment which is a need of the hour. Also, this is a
process that does not target any specific group of people, anybody
irrespective of gender, age, literacy can contribute towards environment
protection. It does not require any monetary investment; all it requires is
some maintenance.
Apart from this, if composting is adopted on a large scale it would
greatly benefit the environment as it would help in reducing the heaps
of garbage that is currently pilling up in large amounts in and outside
most of the populated cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata
etc.
