Media and Information Languages or Media


Languages are codes, conventions, formats, symbols
and narrative structures that indicate the meaning of
media messages to an audience. Just like our example

kinds of languages to convey messages to the

Excellent! There are different kinds of codes used in


Media. We have three kinds of codes. The thumbs-up sign symbolizes “Ok” or
1. Symbolic Codes “Affirmative”.
2. Written Codes The color red represents Love or Romance.
3. Technical Codes

Let’s talk about the Symbolic Codes. Symbolic codes


are symbols that convey meanings.

your love ones.
