IMPORTANT WARNINGS

DANGER: HIGH VOLTAGE!

The KW914-C PSU unit has a high voltage source inside.


DO NOT remove the covers while the unit is switched on unless specifically instructed.
Disconnect from the power before removing subassemblies.

Nominal 32 Volt DC electrical power on interfaces and capsule.

Accessing the System.

Removal of Door, Front Cover, Top and Side Panels

Pre-requisites
Small/medium Phillips / cross head screw driver.
Large flat head screw driver.

Remove the front panel of the VR2272B enclosure, including the door, by unscrewing
the green screws in each corner (x 4).

Next remove the four screws holding the metal panel to the VR2272B.

Remove the side panel.
Using a flat bladed screwdriver extract the 2 green locking pins. Once removed, push
the panel from the inside and it will pop out.

Locking Pins

This will allow access the SVGA monitor output and the PS2 keyboard and mouse.

If replacing the HDD also remove the top panel of the main enclosure. Also remove
the top panel.

Now remove the four screws holding the front text panel.

This will allow access to the CDP SW4.

Connecting a SVGA monitor, Keyboard and Mouse

Pre-requisites
SVGA Monitor
Keyboard and mouse

Make sure the VR2272B is OFF by turning the key anti-clockwise. Wait for 45
seconds for the system to power down and de-energise the relays.

On the CDP ensure that the DIP switches SW4-5 ‘NO RESET’ to the ON position
(SERVICE MODE) (toward the board) this stops the auto restart when the M3
application is not running. And SW4-6 ‘AUDIBLE ALARM’ to the OFF position.

On the right hand side of the MEU you will see the SVGA monitor socket the PS/2
mouse and keyboard socket and a spare USB socket. Connect the monitor and
mouse here.

Note: If a PS/2 mouse is not available a USB mouse may be connected but the
system must be restarted in order for it to operate. Therefore USB is preferable.

Once the monitor, keyboard and mouse are connected follow the System Start Up.

System Start Up Sequence

Switch ON the VR2272B by turning the key clockwise and the following screens
should appear in this order.

1. VIA screen: - YES go to 2. NO Contact your service agent.

2. Windows Starting screen: - YES go to 3. NO Contact your service agent.

3. M3 starts and minimises with no faults: - YES end. NO Go to 4.

4. Windows stops on the below screen: - YES Go to 5. NO Go to 6.

5. Tick the ‘Do not try to restore the connection in the future’ and click on OK.
When the M3 application starts up select the ‘Config’ and go to the ‘Capsule’
tab and select ‘No HVR’ and ‘Apply’.
Contact your service agent.

6. M3 starts but gives in turn the following screens.

This is most likely the corruption of the file called [M3E.cf0].

Close the M3 application. This may involve the closing of many of the warning boxes!
Locate the file [M3E.cf0] as shown in the below screenshot and delete it. When the
M3 application is restarted it will create a new default [M3E.cf0] file and allow the
system to function.
